Metalstorm for the NES
Wild Arms for the SNES

thats all i can think of for now, and I have heard of and beaten Glover
Not trying to be a douche but wasn't wild arms on PS? Love that series just never knew they had a snes one too. If ur right im gonna have to find that somewhere. ANyway, since it's pretty hard to slip one past the escapist...my ot game would prob be....Zero Divide. (Robot fighting game) Great music, actual body dmg and one of my fav fighters of all time. Oh or dark wizard for sega cd. Pure epicness.
Ah thank you, my bad it was Wild GUNS not Wild ARMS. My bad.
was that the side scrolling beatum up like cartoony wild west..dynamite throwing..train jumping..like tmnt style almost...if that game had an arcade version originally then yes. i used to LOVE that game.
That was Sunset Riders, also a great game.

Future Cop:LAPD
A nifty little game where you play a police mech that transforms into a hovercar.
Plus, I still have not found a multiplayer experience like it.
I'm glad someone else has heard of this little gem. Me and my friend used to play it all the time. Never completed it unfortunately :( To this day, its one of the best co-op experiences I've had. Btw, its on the Playstation Network now :)

One Must Fall yes, great game!

You could even design your robot in the career mode if I remember well.

And Dreamweb yes I totally remember this one... I especially liked the text when you died that was basically explaining the shit resulting for your failure, like the world falling into chaos because the dreamweb was destroyed, throwing humanity in war and destruction, and then said:

"and it's all YOUR falt!"

Excellent.

Company of Heroes.

One of the greatest and most unique RTS games ever made. Got great review scores and IGN has just recently put it on their list of best PC games.

Yet no one has ever heard of it. :(

Seems to prove that if you don't market your game a lot, it will fail no matter how good it is.
Im sorry but you obviously havent played blitzkrieg II(i think) its like its long lost granddad,so rare you barely see it in video, but people still play it online

Mostly Adventure Games;

No-one i know has ever heard of The Experiment (aka Experience 112). It's incredibly immersive and has some unique gameplay elements, though a frustrating difficulty at times.

The Moment of Silence is also a great sci-fi adventure game done very much in the style of The Longest Journey.

Also Overclocked: A History of Violence (though it got more attention than TMOS).

Gregory Horror Show is not completely unknown, but isn't as well known as perhaps it should be.

Barrow Hill & Scratches. Two competent horror adventure games.

Vivisector: Beast Within a slightly generic FPS based on the Island of Dr. Moreau.

Disaster Report is a sort of survival horror/adventure/action game where you instead must survive the collapse of an island. Not completely unknown though

Though it has a following I would have to go with Deus Ex. Literally no one I talk to has ever heard of the game

What a shame
Being a huge fan of Deus Ex, i have to repsectfully disagree. To be pedantic, the game was pretty popular in the day and is still often thought of as one of the best PC games ever. I do agree though that it's sad that it's no-one gives it much attention anymore.

This thread brings back memories.

Heavy Gear 2 on the pc
Hells Yeah! I have never met anyone who has played Heavy Gear 2. I bought this game for 8 bucks in a bargain bin at KB Toys, and wow what a great purchase that turned out to be! Possibly the first game that I played online.

I also have this game on Dreamcast called Maken X; I bought it second hand off of a friend. Its pretty hard to understand the plot, but the first person action is actually pretty well done for only having one analog stick.

And what about Silicon Valley for the N64? I remember that game being pretty fun but I have never met anyone else who has played it.

Blast Works (n64) Rareware, awesome

And

Space Station, Silicon Valley (n64)

I don't care how much praise the n64 gets, i STILL think its an underrated system.
=o

Edit1*Blast Corps, not Works*

Edit2* What are the odds of the person above me saying Silicon valley =o

Personally i see a few gems that I have tried myself. Shogo Future Co and X-Com among them. My pick would have to be Seven Kingdoms an underrated but very good Rts made around the same time as Age of Empires.

Medievil is slightly less hard when you discover the secret of the Chicken Drumsticks.

They turn the Shadow Demons (otherwise hard to kill) into roast chickens which will heal you.

Seriously.

Wasteland [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasteland_%28video_game%29]
Fallout was an Unofficial Sequel to Wasteland. Known amongst hardcore Fallout fans and thats about it.

Elite [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_%28video_game%29]
The first Space Sim, and was based off the Traveler universe

Dune II: Battle for Arrakis [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_II]
A little known game that invented the RTS genre as we know it today, Blizzard borrowed HEAVILY from Westwood studios Battle for Arrakis, when they created Warcraft.

While not an entirely "unknown" game, its importance is often understated because it was a licensed title.

Dreamweb [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamweb]

Banned in several country's, Dreamweb was one of the first games to treat its players like adults. With themes of sex, violence, murder and morality, interwoven into a complex and detailed plot that truly challenged its players perception of good and evil, with a truly shocking ending.
Wasteland wasn't related to Fallout in any way except that Interplay wanted to expand on the idea of the nuclear wasteland setting.
Fallout definately took inspiration from Wasteland, but EA developed that. Interplay developed fallout.
As for Dune II inventing the RTS genre, that's wrong. It was elements from wargames, like Gary Gygax's Chainmail and HG Well's game called Little Wars that helped create both the RTS and RPG genre's of gaming we now love and enjoy.

I've heard of it lots and everyone keeps giving it great reviews and commending it on such greatness yet it still has never appealed to me, don't know why.

A little known top down shooter that was released by Auran studios a few years back called Shadowgrounds. Goddamn, that game was frantic, crazy, addictive fun.
I don't know anyone who knows of this game.
Also, the fps puzzler series called Penumbra: Overture, Black Plague and the expansion Requiem.

C-12: Final Resistance.

Did anyone actually play this game?
I have that. its good. Mine would be Knytt Stories, a freeware game. There's a large custom level community but drop it into conversation and no one has a clue.
