The best quality a human can have?

Wisdom is less about doing something or having people believe something (that's politics) than it is about truth. Sure, you'll want to do something with it, but just because you need the drive, will, etc (eyes bleed from it all - insanity is imminent), doesn't mean that those things are superior. If it is the case that those things are superior, you'd need a metric by which to judge humor, will, drive (bleeding eyes - don't sleep) etc... this metric is wisdom. What wisdom means is a completely different matter - no one has asked that question yet (nor should they, because it's a relevant but separate topic).

I am not saying they are superior. I am providing alternative perspectives. You can't have truth without perspective. Sure you can have an idea without perspective but you can't know it is truth without some type of test. However, this (like most philosophical topics) are up to your point of view.

Hm... then I'll put in the first vote for honor. Without it, dishonesty grows and festers. Simple things like being respectful and trust would be useless if honor didn't exist.

My subjective experience no more makes something true than simply stating it as a fact would.

There is a truth to any given matter - a single one. You're suggesting these other qualities are superior by placing them prior to the standard by which they are judged.

Like holding a meter stick and saying that it is better than the meter standard, simply because one is tangible while the other is abstract.

I think it depends on what ur looking for. In my case i'm thinking for he world to be a better place i think people should be understanding or open minded, they are kind of similar. I say that because so many wars would of been non existent and daily life would be better if each person understood another or was open minded enough to listen and talk etc xD.

Curiosity, humor, humility, knowledge, desire, love, friendship, fear, passion, ambition. All of these things are wasted potential without the wisdom to understand and use them correctly.

I was having a discussion with colleagues of mine over what are the important qualities a person can have. Many different and even competing qualities were listed (selfishness/kindness, etc). I am curious what people here think.

My vote is curiosity. The ability to learn and understand has great power in a social world.

Being alive is a pretty useful quality.

If that answer won't cut it, I'd say work ethic. Getting shit done is a good thing.

So that we can eventually colonize other planets, and increase our chances of survival in case the Earth becomes uninhabitable.
