Uhmm.

I can't find a good word for it, but people who think, who use their brain and consider the information they recieve and ponder. The ones that just buy into everything or don't get it because they're not actually trying to piss me off. :/

Wisdom.

If we were all wise we would have no problems.
/thread. All other traits mentioned are all measured against the rubric of this.

Moving on...
You don't just get wisdom. You seek it. You need curiosity to get it. However, you need to seek it relentlessly to get the good stuff so determination and ambition are important to obtain wisdom as well.
I think you may be getting knowlage confused with wisdom there.

It certainly is possible to just have wisdom, if you touch something hot you gain the knowlege that5 it really fucking hurts, your wisdom tells you that you should be carefull not to do it again.

common sense, a great portion of humanity doesn't have it.
Pretty sure they have it. They just think it is better to ignore it.

So you are saying that before you touch the stove you already had the wisdom to "no do it again"? Socrates didn't start with "I am wise because I know I know nothing". Descartes didn't know since birth "Cogito ergo sum". They sought those answers. However, I will agree there is a fine line between wisdom and knowledge and they do go hand in hand frequently.

Depends, I guess. I couldn't choose, some are as good as each other and each has different pro's and con's to look at.

Personally, I'd say I value humour most.

But as for a single quality for getting ahead in the normal human world?

Good looks, or if you don't have that, sheer never ending determination.

Oh and love is nothing. It rarely even truly exists anymore, and I'm not even damn sure whether it ever did, or whether it was even any good to most people. Compassion however is endlessly important in a peaceful, civilised society. The ability to care about other human beings, their emotions and dreams, is important to coexist with each other.

Shame compassion is pretty much dead, stupidly replaced with the aforementioned nigh on non-existant emotion.

Control,

Knowing when to stop and when not to get involved. and being in control of your other emotions is what's important.

Kindness and compassion (I'd say they go together) because being an asshole just waters down the experience for everyone else, and you don't really have that right.

Cookie for the reference. :D
The triforce?
Actually I think it's the hubris prayer from Megalomaniacs Anonymous. Man that would suck. Having to listen to that whiner Lensher sob about his childhood while Luthor sleeps through the meeting and Doom keeps bumming your smokes to keep his voice up to snuff.

Crudos I'd like to read that paper, what grade did you get on it?

It's on topic so why not post it?

Competitiveness. We define ourselves through conflict, without that conflict we degrade and even lose our sense of self and self-respect, two qualities that are very valuable.

It's more like wisdom is how we use knowlege.
Knowlege is information, wisdom is what you do with it.
At least that's how I understand it.

This. I was going to say compassion myself. I think it's pretty hard to be humility, it requires to much, compassion doesn't if you put a little effort in.

Good looks. I know it sounds harsh, and we all want those crappy Hollywood rom-coms to be true, but if we look better, we're more likely to pass on our genes, which is what animals are meant to do.
