I had a Butterfree that I named margarine once.

Can't tell if that belongs in the worst, or best category.
I assert that that's the best. I never would've thought of that one.

OT: The only one I ever named was my Charizard, Pepi. Named him after my friend's dog who was the coolest dog in the history of dogs.

I called a Rattata Gary once. Cookie for those who get the reference :D.
All hail Kelsey Grammer.

I don't really name my Pokemon, I name my rival. I usually call him whoever I'm pissed off at at the moment. So lot of my games have Michaels and Jacks running around.

I've actually recently been playing the old games and giving every pokemon a nickname, all of them weird and nonsensical. Here's just a few.
YATTA! - BELLSPROUT
COLDER - SANDSHREW
SINBAD - HOOTHOOT
MOOKIE - JIGGLYPUFF
DIO - CHARIZARD
BADFISH - DITTO
ISIS - GRIMER
OPPRESOR - KABUTO
SEPULTURA - ONIX
BANJO - DODUO
BECK - ABRA

Also I named my characters Homsar and Batman and my opponents No One and Longcat
You decide which is best and worst

I named all mine in Platinum "Mr." or "Ms." something or other. Each name had to do with their type and abilities, an example would be my Empoleon named "Mr. Bubble" sort of as a BioShock reference and because he's water type. Eventually I ran out of names and realized it's pretty stupid to try that with all of them.

I named one of my many pokemans, a Ekins, SNAKE. Before In knew of SNAAAAKE. I cracked up when I realized what I did.

Oh and it doesn't really count but in Chrono Trigger I named Frog Slipy for obvious reasons.

I'm turning on my DS for this...

Infernape - Dallas
Empoleon - Shackleton
Torterra - Rio
Alakazam - Salem
Electivire - Windsor
Luxray - Chicago
Manectric - Brisbane
Charizard - Tucson
Ivysaur - Kyoto
Wartortle - Sydney
Swampert - Willowby
Grovyle - Sao Paulo
Combusken - Arlington

I think the trend has become apparent enough. Oh, and this isn't just for these Pokemon, almost every one of them caught in my games is now named after cities or certain geographical regions. I then constantly have a source of unique names that no one else will have.

Also, I never loved my Pokemon.
What.

On topic, there was a time when I used to name them. But I never named them immature stuff about genitals and what not. At one point I named them after friends. Then I named them things like "Longneck" or "Crazy Eyes" based on their appearence. But eventually I got over that nonsense.

The names, that is. Not Pokemon.

I don't name them... but I know once my brother accidentally hit the nickname button, he didn't know the entering the nickname as all blanks cancels the process. So he named his Treeco, Treeco. When it evolved it's name stayed Treeco.
