You have no right to talk about the good old days of gaming, when you're about 9 years old or something.

But they dont.I relized they dont care about their core gamers anymore.Once they found out they can become rich by marketing crappy graphic games where the objective is usually to flail ur wiimote around like a monkey and has no storyline or point to it, they threw us to the side. All we see now is wii____ or wii_____ or wii sports 2!!!I wanna see Mario____ or zelda______!!!

IM DONE NINTENDO!!!
So you wanna see the 15th incarnation of mario or zelda and the(water snow mtn desert levels)...

Also we "gamers" or "hardcore gamers" give oursleves way too much importance. We are the minority if nintendo wants to concentrate on the market that makes them money and brings in a new audience(god forbid they do whats working) so be it. Suck it up quit whining about how your betrayed and let down by a companies actions.
The hardcore gamer is irrelevant(to an extent). Why spend millions on a game to please a small portion of your base when you can spend less and make more by creating 'wii beach sports" or something?

/rant that wasn;t really dirrected at quoted

My first Console was the SNES, and I always loved nintendo as I was growing up but now, well I am sad because there are all these games for the Xbox360 and PS3 while the wii gets crap like "african picture safari." Please nintendo, we need our good games. I'm not looking for old series, just give something for teh hardcore among us to play, you were the rebirth of console gaming after it died in teh early 80's, please don;t go the way of those old companies and make the nintendo seal mean something!
I thought that was a PS3 Game [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W97jzYW_vgo]

But how much of a petty, self-obssessed sense of entitlement do you have too have to start bandying about the world "betrayal"?

One of the dictionary definitions of betrayal is to disappoint the hopes or expectations of; be disloyal to.Thats what nintendo did to me, so i label it BETRAYAL

I love this post.

It explains so much with so little.

Nintendo Has never really been know for top of the line graphics, even the NES was a little underpowered for it's age.

you should have waited in line for a wii instead of paying $400 for it.

Also it really isn't Nintendo's fault that 3rd parties don't take them seriously.

Mabey if Metroid prime 3 was a launch title but I really don't see that making a big diff.

I remember always loving nintendo as a kid.Their fun, awesome games always braught me joy!The N64 was my favorite and the gamecube was OKAY.But the nintendo has completely betrayed its core fans.I couldnt wait to get my wii, i spent all my christmas money just to buy 1 for 400$ off ebay cuz they were sold out.At first it seemed cool, i anxiously awaited titles like super mario galaxies, legend of zelda:twilight princess, and ESPECIALL super smash bros brawl. But after those games had come and i beat them all and achieved all their glories, i find myself bored of my wii.I watch g4 and read my game informers hoping that they will announce some huge new mario or zelda game to kick all ass.

I know. It's sad, but we must let Nintendo go. They have lost their way, and are too far beyond redemption. Let them go, Matt. Let them go.

By the way, you have the same name as me.

To be honest, after seeing the trailer for the new Zelda and playing some of Phantom Hourglass, I think it's safe to say that Zelda is finished. They've simply run out of ideas, and there's nowhere else to take the series, because it's restricted in very safe confines.

Same goes for a lot of other things. Oh well, empires rise and fall.

But who isn't excited for another collection of crappy gimmick-games?Y Yeah, me neither.

I use my Gamecube more than my Wii. Of course I never use my Wii.

I'm tired of you people complaining about Nintendo. Exitebots, Punch-Out, various Play Control games, and Zelda: Spirit Tracks all look to be great. Stop acting as though there aren't any good games for the Wii, because there are.

you think thats bad i saw a poster advert for brawl which had all the rednapps huddled together holding wii controllers and at the bottom it said play brawl with the rednapps. I was shocked that nintendo would snoop so low into making such a casual advert for a hardcore game it just sickens me.

i read that the guy that made nintendo what it is, sorry i forget the name, is not allowed by contract with nintendo to talk about his hobbies. when he got into gardenning we got pikmin, when he got a puppy we got nintendogs. when he took up yoga we go wiifit.

i feel so dumb for forgetting his name. he thought up mario and legend of zelda. honestly i think they only haveone guy thinking all this shit up for them. that would explain the constant return to their core material.

"Hardcore" gamers spent ten years largely ignoring Nintendo in favour of Sony, why are you at all surprised that now they are ignoring you back?

I don't think nintendo betrayed me... More i grew out of them. Everyone loves nintendo as a kid. They haven't really changed over the years, their market has. And now they've found a niche selling games to housewives and families, that's fine.
This isn't a case of "mature games for mature gamers like me hurr", more a lack of challenge. Sure, nintendo has a few select franchises they seem happy to beat to death again and again, so does everyone.
No, my tastes just changed. I could no longer stomach the regurgitated charm of nintendo's mascot. they lost a customer, but they don't care, there are plenty of other hardcore fans out there, and that market of casuals are sure to flock to the cheapest console in these times, so really, they're very clever.

With the Wii, you have to pick and choose. I've been a Ninty faithful my whole life, but the fact is the Wii just doesn't have the same amount of good games the other systems have. Not even close. But dig around a bit, always look at reviews, be careful what you spend your cash on, and the Wii is decent. Still need to save up for a 360...

Aether, you mean Shigeru Miyamoto. And yeah, he created most of Nintendo's franchises. And Laiken, you're right, I adore Pikmin. Roll on Pikmin 3!
