As for his last point, I've known that from the second I heard about MLP a re-boot. I believe my actualwords were, "What's next Strawberry Shortcake?" But now that it's insanely popular with like, everybody, I'm afraid that might actually happen.

MovieBob, if you read this. Can you please have your next Junk Drawer video be "Junk Drawer Revolutions"? I think that that would be amusing.

Onto the content of the episode. As usual, I agree with most of what you've said here, and while I think that you might not hit right on the mark all the time, you at least hit it close enough for people to figure it out themselves.

And yes, while I'm a fan of MLP:FiM, I hope desperately that they don't try to redo some of the other stuff from the same period. It'd be annoying. However, if Lauren Faust got hold of it, some of it might be reasonable, but then it'd just be old and same-y.

Another thing, I don't think guys (at least those I've spoken to, and yes, I agree that it's not impiricle as you said) don't have a problem with relatively good looking men in movies/game/etc. it's, just that we don't want to hear about it all the time. It's like aliens and periods, we know it's there, we just don't need to be reminded about it all the time.

Also, I don't think guys watch movies/games solely for the girls in them unless it's porn related. I could be wrong though. I know that I certainly don't.

I doubt that if Jem gets rebooted, that it'll go the MLP route. Most of the fans liked the show for its soap opera-lite aspects. So I'm guessing they'll keep that tone, albeit with one that has a more post-modern bent to it. They'll most likely look to shows like Buffy, Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl as examples and influences. Jem herself will probably be redone as as Lady Gaga/Katy Perry-esque pop superstar (which would actually bring the whole concept full-circle, as both artists have either consciously or subconsciously referenced or been influenced by the show in some way). Now if they can get some really good writers, and get someone like Giorgio Moroder to write the songs, you might have something.

Actually, I wouldn't mind more girls' cartoon remakes. Yes, if it would be as Bob described, with cheap pop-culture references, that would be bad, but even if a FEW brain-dead creators would believe that MLP was like that, and commit that mistake, for anyone else with a little sense, it isn't that hard to look into the MLP fandom, and make a list of the reasons why people caim to like it: Good animation, good characterization, "cuteness", good humor.

In other words, production values, production values, and production values.

If they want to make well-animated girls' series by a dedicated team that cares about making a good show, then they are welcome to try, even if it won't be such a shocking meme for a second time, but at least some animation fans will enjoy them, not to mention the original target audience.

I don't think it's fair to say "they're all going to suck." I mean, that's probable and it's a funnier line than "some might be good, after all MLP surprised us", but still.

I agree that some of the upcoming remakes will suck, but certainly not all of them.
As for memes and bronies? MLP is a one in a million shot, and won't happen again. (After all, they did the unthinkable and cameo'ed a Doctor that WASN'T the 4th Doctor! The Horror!/sarcasm)

1) After reading this, I guess I'll restrain myself a little more from complaining about the way the guys look in Twilight, since I do shamefully enjoy the fanservice that Soul Calibur gives, as well as other videogames. Though in defense of SC, it gives fanservice to both genders, where as Twilight is just showing estrogen bridge bait and giving really nothing for the guys. That, and SC has a far better story of sorts than Twilight.

2) Since it often occurs on the televised debates, that they'll take a question that was submitted to the moderators online to the Republican canidates, I'm all for everyone watching this episode of "The Big Picture," to sumbit that question to the moderators of the next debate, asking Ron Paul to say his name backwards to see if he does disappear to another dimension.

3) Wow, the guy at "Big Hollywood" seems to not know his Star Wars too much. In the expanded universe, there are already homosexual couples. Hell, it's even canon there is a homosexual Mandalorian couple on Mandalore. For those who don't know, Mandalorians are the people and planetary culture that Jango and Boba Fett came from.

You know, I used to love this series... But this episode felt rushed, and you just seemed to be trolling.

I am getting a bit sick of your holier than thou attitude you've been getting as of late. You used to at least on the surface come off a tad bit more neutral.

Now it's coming across as if you believe everything you think/feel/say is right, and anything else is wrong. Completely wrong. So wrong it's stupid to have ever even crossed someones mind.

Is this what you've devolved into? Guess it's just another ego blossoming on the interwebs.

My responses to topics in video
Game Score: I see that companies want more people to play their games other then the fans who was going to buy them anyway. However they can't be happy with 6-8 out of 10 score.

Peaches/DLC: Patches (I agree with you), DLC (not so much)

politicians in frames: I don't know, pre-bought photo frames pictures show younger people then politicians or the politicians try to be a generic every-man

Ron Pall: I see what you did there

Sony and Cards: No matter how much I can defend for Sony, I agree with you.

Gay and SW: Can't agree more

Soul Calibur 5 vs Twilight: Know what, you got a great point there. Agreed.

"Feminist" gamer: Sorry not touching that topic.

Retail stores: There loss.

Racist fence: Saying the game is racist and your black and offended, The game is racist. Saying the game is racist and your white and offended, shut the f*** up. Only a person in the same race that the media making fun of can call it racist or not.

Batman's voice: God yes!

My little pony: I think the show got struck by lightning lucky when the show got picked up by 4chaners and build the fan base and spread like wildfire.

I like how people make a fuss of Old Republic gay marriage forgetting the original trilogy had fucking incest in it.
My gawd he's right... sort of, im not sure if a kiss warrents incest but I get where your coming from.

Also, couldnt agree more about the Twilight thing. I mean its reeeeeally bad fan service (I personally believe fan service can be used for good especially when it comes to style) but calling out girls/guys for finding them hawt is stupid, HES GOT AN 8 PACK FOR GAWDS SAKE! Rant and moan about the writing/story/characters sure but leave the sexy timez out of it, at least THEY had a good reason for not wearing much Ivy.

Yet I wonder what ol' Bob has to say about the second analoge stick peripheral for the 3DS?

Nothing too critical, I'd wager.

I still don't understand how or why a My Little Ponies series became this internet phenomenon seemingly overnight. Or over any length of time.

Since I won't watch the show, I probably never will, either. It just seems bizarre to me.

Y'know, last I checked, a great many male gamers were rolling their eyes about the Soul Caliber ladies as much as anyone else. I don't think I've ever seen someone go to any great lengths to defend them.

Also, what exactly were we saying about the Twilight guys? Sure, I've heard plenty off nasty things said about the books/movies, but never anything along the lines of, "They're not allowed to have sexy topless guys."

I agree with everything except the part about rebooting old girly franchises due to the success of MLP. I'm sorry but you are plain wrong with that one, simply because MLP is more like a Lauren Faust thing than a old gen reboot thing, if you take the success that The Powerful Girls had back at its day is no brainer to determinate which is the real cause of it success.

Too much for having the big picture, but then the "90's suck" pre consideration make you skip some critical information.

Posted on page 4(hopefully). It hardly matters, but I wanted to say it anyway.

why do politicians look like their photo

because part of their campaign is their appearance (since their policies are not important until they are voted in)

they want to look like "that guy I'm going to vote for" so everything about them must be as perfect and as standardized as possible

Just like anything popular
No idea why you put that in there, other than to try and start an argument.
Yes but you know that all these other shows are going to be complete rubbish.

That's what happens when the money men at a big studio sniff a potential seam of gold. They try to dig every last nugget out the ground.

Chances are they'll just end up with a big whole in the ground; and a huge amount of money will be wasted on some terrible stillborn cartoon shows that will quickly be forgotten.
