as for you "attacks" on me, you've decided to use the most stupid and frankly idiotic way of attacking my credibility. why not use facts instead of being a sheep of the people and saying i have to conform like everyone else. i'd rather stand out as my own person, so mostly no capitalization is a great way for me to do that, much like the great ee cummings
Who was doing it because he was writing his poems in the character of a cockroach. The cockroach could only push one button at a time.

Are you saying you're a cockroach?

Anyway, I'm guessing the titular Book of Eil turns out to the Bible. That's what's holding me back on getting excited about this. I don't want to sit in a movie theatre and get a load of literal Bible-bashing thrown at me.

I may go and hope it's a book like Origin of the Species.

Or something completely unexpected.

All this fighting is over Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!

I was actually thinking it seemed a bit like A Boy and his Dog but yeah Fallout 3 works too. It's got potential though and I do plan to see it.

Jesus motherfucking Christ. I'd like to address a very heated argument going on before I offer thoughts as to the movie. Spoilered for the sake of those who need not apply.

cleverlymadeup: choosing to be a non-conformist in a manner that makes you look less intelligent than you probably are (i.e., removing capital letters and punctuation) doesn't sound terribly bright. I understand your need to brand yourself as a leader, not a follower, but for whatever reason, you've chosen to do it in a thoroughly silly and counter-productive way.

cleverlymadeup and miracleofsound: you're engaging in a very, very pointless argument in a needlessly offensive manner. May I suggest dropping the name-calling and snide remarks in favor of civility?

Perhaps the following image will help.

As for the movie itself, now: various parts of the trailer (namely the gritty atmosphere) reminded me strongly of the way Fallout 3 was presented. However, I think it should be able to stand on its own and provide an interesting post-apocalyptic Denzel Washington movie.

I will usually defend my good name when it is being slandered, good sir.

ahhh yes because being one's own person and doing things differently from others takes no thought process or the ability to think differently than everyone else. sorry maybe you should learn what conformity is and then see how actually being different makes you just a bit smarter by definition.

please explain how i'm being ironic, i'd love to hear it.

it might even be as entertaining as your last attempt to prove my point wrong

Are you still here? I thought you'd have gotten bored by now.

If you can't see it yourself in the quotes then it proves my point.

Sheez you two, does it even matter? cleverly, seriously, I took the title of this thread tongue-in-cheek. Why is it so incredibly difficult for you to do the same. Hell, when my wife and I saw the previews for Book of Eli, we both looked at each other and shouted "Fallen Earth!" and proceeded to label Mr. Washington as a Lightbearer, the raiders as Travelers, etc... Are you now going to criticize my wife and I for drawing even a slight comparison between FE and BoE?

Miracle, just stop... You're doing nothing but feeding him. I do have to say, I applaud you for mostly realizing that towards the end of you discussion. Just stop giving him the satisfaction of replying to his posts. It's what he wants.

Um... So if an individual puts their underwear on their head and walks around the mall saying "meep-meep!" to all of the trash cans that means that they are "just a bit smarter by definition."?

I'm actually pretty interested in seeing this. Much more so then The Road at least. It seems to have most of the "post-apocalyptic" (I don't care if you label apocalyptic as nuclear or biologic or what, it's the end of the modern world, get over it) necessities, and I for one love a good apocalypse story. Not to mention it has Mr. Washington. (I refuse to imply that I'm familiar enough to speak his first name!)

I'm glad you took the title tongue in cheek, as that is exactly what I intended it to be. Some people cannot seem to grasp that but let them be I suppose.

And really... it is only fair to be allowed defend oneself when being criticised in such an aggressive manner. Maybe not by being snide, I concede that much. Perhaps I've been playing too much Dragon Age.

Oh, I don't berate you for wanting to defend yourself or doing so, especially since I thought that the original attack on you was completely uncalled for. I was just stating that at this point, it's incredibly apparent that there is little to be gained from the bickering.

I was never really into the whole idea of one guy taking out an entire room of people as the camera spins around like that. It's a bit silly
Why not? I do shit like that ALL THE TIME. Hell I rendered a whole McDonald's unconscious the other day... fucking pickles in my burger.

Anyways, i'll probably wait for the DVD.

iv seen it and i was actually blown away by how it resembled fallout 3.

the character walking alone in the desert, the sets, the costumes, the greenish look and even the raiders like groups killing people for their stuff in the wastelands. actually me and my friend couldn't stop making comparison with fallout 3 the whole movie.

on an other note im a Hughes brothers fan and i was actually disappointed by the movie.

even thought it has nice action it takes long time to reach its points. cool movie but a little soporific.
