I like to try to get people to read Bradbury's The Illustrated Man. It's a great collection of short stories.

Or The Brothers Karamazov, which is dense but worth it for the ideas.

I usually only read Theological books, and the people interested in those aren't people I run into all the time.
However, I will recommend 'The Fighter's Heart' by Sam Sheridan to anyone who likes the UFC, or who, like me, didn't know a lot about it.
Changed my whole perspective on the sport. I went from apathetic to fan after reading that book.
Great read.

Lord of the Flies.

Watchmen and V for Vendetta aren't proper books. They're graphic novels.

Which ones? I have interest! :p
Oh pretty much anything by Ravi Zacharias is just so freaking interesting (Especially 'Beyond Opinion' and 'The Lotus and the Cross'). I'm currently reading 'The Myth of the Christian Religion' by Gregory A. Boyd, which is very very interesting as well. It's good to see I'm not the only Christian who thinks we need to break the traditional mold of the church and focus on the soteriological aspects of the faith, rather then the little stuff that doesn't matter.

I definitely agree with the latter statement. I haven't read Boyd's book, but I am familiar with his website and some of his other books. I like a lot of them, although I don't embrace his open theism. But if push came to shove, I'd take that over Calvinism every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

The Odyssey.

IMO, the best Greek mythology book.
Damn, I didn't think there was any chance someone would actually say that. Now I have to think of something else.

Into Thin Air, is a good book. It's sort of a non-fiction adventure/memoirs thing. It's about the disaster on Everest that happened sometime in the 1990's. Written by a journalist who was there when it happened.

I would recommend the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay because it is cleverly written and is also darkly humorous at some points.
I've been trying to find this book series, as I loved the season. I hate that I watched the season first though... sometimes it ruins it.

Actually, no. We haven't. The Search Bar was utilized. The Search Bar said nothing similar to this for 10 pages.

Atlas shrugged?

Are you serious?

Jurassic Park is a pretty awesome book though. Intensely violent aswell.
Yeah. I sort of am. Why? And hooray for the agreement on Jurassic Park.

Denpends on what your looking for really. High Fidelety is a good read, if not at all intellectual. If you want somthing a bit smarter, I'd suggest The Outsider or The Plague by Albert Camus.

George Orwell's 1984. And I just started and am enjoying a lot Darkly Dreaming Dexter, which inspired the tv show. Even if you follow the series, it's worth to read the books. I'm not sure but I think there are 2 others, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dark Dexter? Something like that.
