It's debatable, with dragon age, I played as a sword and shield warrior, but got irritated by the fact that every time I wanted to attack a dude, I had to saunter up to them, circle them for a while until I found a proper attack angle, and then start actually attacking. I eventually made an archer and really liked that. For DA2, though, they fixed the combat so it's less slow paced, and I'll probably start off by playing a 2 handed sword warrior, and after that try some kind of mage.

DAE have trouble clicking opponents in the demo? I had to pause most of the time to target a new enemy because everyone runs around so much, especially when there are 30 hurlocks all running from target to target. I actually kind of like it because the combat is actually hectic and fast paced.

Mage, 'cuz they're overpowered as hell. Every dragon was no problem at all, and if any party members health got too low then I had a defensive mage backed up.
Hint: Cone of Cold freezes EVERYTHING in its tracks. Even High Dragons.

I loved the rogue in the demo, but I'm tempted to play Warrior first. I'll be playing a male character first, like in all other BioWare games I've played, so if I did rogue first, I would feel compelled to do my second (female) play-through as a mage, which seems stereotypical for some reason. I could play her as a warrior, but--and maybe this is a little chauvinistic of me--that just doesn't seem to fit the female archetype in my mind. The other option is to play a male mage first, then female rogue and just ignore warrior until some hypothetical third play-through.

I'm probably dwelling on it too much, but this is the thought process that happens for me :p

Mage or Rogue... I'm divided...I didn't really like Rogue in Origins but it seemed to be fixed now...<.<

Warrior. Rogue looks freakin awesome, but I prefer to do the first playthrough as a warrior, so I can wear all the awesome armor, and rock the two-handed sword

Tanky/Dps as in the first one. Did most of the dmg while Alistair was jerking around being useless. In times of utter desperation I'd pull of some ridiculous AOE with Morrigan and have Wynne res me and Alistair cuz we'd die in a sea of fire together with the attacking mobs. But yeah Alistair, silly man.

I want to play a mage, but then I get a whiny templar brother instead of a hot sister, so I'm still on the fence.
If I don't go mage, I'll go rogue. I never really liked tanking, to be honest.
Wait, is that how it works? You get the brother if you're a Mage and the sister if you're a Fighter? Which do you get if you're a Rogue?

I'm going to use rogue, just because it was way more fun than warrior in the demo. The warrior was kind of bland compared to the teleporting ninja.
Where as I'm probably going to go warrior because I found the Nightcrawler act annoying.

If you're a rogue, you still get the sister. It's a matter of complementing your class, both gameplay and story wise. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone really likes the brother, so that's something to keep in mind if you're rolling a mage first up.

Then again, I could be wrong, and he could turn out to be a really nice guy. Who knows?

Rogue just looks so stylish and fluid, almost beautiful in a way. Also Backstab is awesome.

I'd planned on rogue since it was announced, the demo just confirmed the choice.
Must say I'm quite reluctant to go mage though,
Since I can anticipate that Carver will be a tremendous imbecile after Beth dies
So second play will probably be a warrior.

Mage. I played through the demo as a mage and it kicked ass. Although the re balancing was sad... The overly broken mage from DA:O was heaps of fun to play.

First: Female mage. The option of making Flemeth adore you in the Demo made that pretty sure.

second run: male warrior, because I want Isabella as rouge on the main team
