Just picked up a Radeon HD 6850, for which I spent $160 US dollars. More than adequate for my needs (I can run The Witcher 2 somewhere between High/Ultra settings with a little tweaking and the framerate is great).

I got mine 2-3 years ago for about $130 and there isn't a game out there it won't play. It is about time to get a new one though, it is starting to get loud and hot.

I just picked an HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB back in march. I got it on sale but it's listed at $284.99 It doesn't even blink at running Portal 2 or Dragon Age 2 on max settings. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161355

I brought an XFX HD 5870 XXX back this time last year for about £260.

A lot cheaper now, of course.

I can run any game on max settings, with stuff like Witcher 2 maxed out running at 60FPS.

That said, if I was building now, I'd get an nVidia. Their new GPUs are good shit.

ATI HD4770, about 100? and still runs most games on the highest settings smoothly.
AKA. Well bought.
Hmm... I might think about buying this. There's one for £60.00, which doesn't sound bad at all, that is, if you are giving the right description.
It was about 100? when I bought it, which is over a year ago. 512 mb ram and the next in the series got a full gigabyte of ram.

When you say 2.9GHz processor, what are you running? Dual, Quad, i series?
I'll just quote it.
"AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 245 Processor 2.90GHz"

I'm assuming from the two's that it is a dual.
Well the CPU isn't terrible but to be quite honest, I don't understand why - if you are buying a new PC for games - you wouldn't buy an i series, specifically an i7 - the 920 is pretty cheap and a great little processor.

I just picked up a GTX 460 1GB for $170 with a $40 mail in rebate. Eagerly waiting for it to arrive so I can replace my dying 8800 GT 512MB (goes over 100*C under load), which I picked up for $200 four years ago.

I have a Nvidia GeForce GTS 250, which is basically a rebranded 9800GTX+, and it was only $100. It's a great card and I've been super impressed with how quiet it is for being rather large.

Just put a Radeon 6950 Twin Frozr III in mine from MSI
Got it for about $270 so it was a pretty big hit on the bank account.

$80

It's an ATI Radeon HD 5670 and has 512MB of RAM. It runs StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, and Team Fortress 2 on High settings at 30+ FPS, that's really all I care about for now.

AMD PHENOM II X4 955
MOBO ASUS M4TD87
RAM 4GBX2 DDR3 1600 MHZ KINGSTOM
GPU NVIDIA 250 GTS 512MB

The GPU is way outdated, but it runs most games on high or very high, planning to change it soon for a 560ti.
