The Definitive movie of 'X'

When it comes to that certain subject, person, historic event, setting or visual style, people always tend to think of a particular movie that sums it up the best. Well I'd like to hear what you think is a movie that is the absolute pinnacle of representing a certain...'thing.' Obviously the fewer contenders you get for your 'X', the more solid is your claim that the movie really is the 'definitive' one.

That makes nearly no sense, so I'll just jump to examples:

I nominate 'Twister' as the definitive movie about Tornadoes. I also see Backdraft as the definitive firefighting movie, and Tora Tora Tora as the definitive movie about the attack on Pearl Harbor.

See what I mean? What say you all? Agree? Disagree? Have your own ideas?

Interesting- I'll have to check out The Wind That Shakes the Barley. I also agree 100% with Das Boot- I heard somewhere that modern Submariners laugh themselves silly at most sub movies, but Das Boot is a very different breed.

I'd agree with Deliverance, though I thought you were going down a different road there... well played.

Memento- definitive movie about short-term memory loss, and Groundhog day is the definitive film about... um... the groundhog day effect?

Postal for best Uwe Boll film. Snatch for best heist film. Prestige for best magician film. In the Mouth of Madness for best Lovecraft film(lotta competition, I know)
