Thankfully I live in NA, when the full game comes out I'll get plenty of reviews before deciding if its worth canceling my preorder or not.
Yeah the guy at my local EB Games said he had no idea what it was either. He rang up his manager and then figured out that Beta Access and First Access are two different things. Got my code, going to redeem it now.MiracleOfSound said:This is total BS.
Pre-ordered, got no code. Went back to Game today and they don't know anything about any codes.
It's a DEMO. Do they want to sell the damn game or not? Idiots.
No wonder it took them so long to make it.
Yep did the same thing to me, didnt know I got one until the owner was telling me about itMercurySteam said:Righto, time to ring up EB Games and ask for my code.Triforceformer said:Did you get a First Access Club code with the preorder? You should have.MercurySteam said:I preordered the game. Does that make me eligible for access to the demo?
Please tell me you're joking.Morgan Howe said:yeah it was crap
also did Yahtzee B.S. us? seems like he never actual reviewed the game, or was it one big joke on us?http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/1968-Viewers-Choice-Duke-Nukem-Forever
And that system does work. Better IMO. I'd take Halo's system with a controller over searching on my keyboard for the right button anyday. It's overly complex. I wish I could give the demo a shot so I could give it a critique with no kind of nostalgia interfering.WaaghPowa said:Although I can agree that having more than 2 weapons isn't necessarily a hard thing with a controller, it's still a possibility. Seeing as PC shooters have all the numbers keys at their disposal, like in Half life having 1-8 for weapons, it's just easier to make one button switch between 2 weapons. It's speculated that it's the reason why the first Halo had a 2 weapon limit and you just hit "Y" to switch back and forth.Hardcore_gamer said:I don't know if it really has anything to do with consoles, you can easily have at least 4 weapons without it being hard to play with a controller. I think it has more to do with Duke Nukem Forever taking the horrid decision to jump on the realism bandwaggon even though its the last thing in the whole universe Duke Nukem should be doing.Ddgafd said:My guess is that they tried to make it more console friendly with the 2 weapon limit.
I did post my demo play through vids on this thread, if that helps.Awexsome said:I wish I could give the demo a shot so I could give it a critique with no kind of nostalgia interfering.
Cool, I'll look through that, thanks.WaaghPowa said:I did post my demo play through vids on this thread, if that helps.Awexsome said:I wish I could give the demo a shot so I could give it a critique with no kind of nostalgia interfering.
This pretty much how I felt. I hope I won't need to use EB Games' 7 day return policy twice in two months. Brink was awful, and this demo was terribly lacklustre.MiracleOfSound said:I'm happy to report to you sir, that you did not miss out on much. The demo was bad. And I mean, really bad.
I assume you played the Xbox version? So far it seems that the people having the worst experience are the Xbox users, whereas the pc users are having no issues at all.MercurySteam said:This pretty much how I felt. If you're referring to the issues with Brink, it was the shitty A.I. that pissed em off the most in combination with the fact that you earned more XP offline, I had no reason to try an online match at all.WaaghPowa said:I assume you played the Xbox version? Considering that the thread is about the Duke demo, I was referring to the Duke Nukem demo.MercurySteam said:If you're referring to the issues with Brink, it was the shitty A.I. that pissed em off the most in combination with the fact that you earned more XP offline, I had no reason to try an online match at all.WaaghPowa said:I assume you played the Xbox version? I see. There was no lag, technical hiccups, graphical cock-ups or anything like that. The demo was just bad. Don't know what made you think it was an issue with the console.WaaghPowa said:Considering that the thread is about the Duke demo, I was referring to the Duke Nukem demo.MercurySteam said:If you're referring to the issues with Brink, it was the shitty A.I. that pissed em off the most in combination with the fact that you earned more XP offline, I had no reason to try an online match at all.WaaghPowa said:I assume you played the Xbox version? MiracleOfSound and some others claimed that the game had some technical issues, and since he has yet to clarify what version he was playing all I've had to go on was his profile page which features an Xbox account. So I'm trying to figure out if his problem is on consoles since I had no technical issues at all on PC.MercurySteam said:I see.
