the ability to clib treees and walls (thief like)
Yea that was actually one big thing that i was thinking. Like how awesome would it be to walk into a forest and see like a woodelf high up in a tree aiming a bow at you. Something like that would definately make this game even better.

Also something i would like to see is better movement. I thought that the movement in oblivion was rather slow and clumsy.

More realistic combat. If you shoot someone in the head with an arrow, they should die. if you slice their throat, they should die. the same should be for your character; if you get shot in the head or sliced in the throat you should lose some extra health. They should kind of bring anatomy in this like if you cut a specific body part or something idk just something to think about.

More diverse fighting. When you swing your sword its the same movement EVERY time. it made the combat rather bland and boring.

I definately agree with more detailed environments and caves etc. everything sort of ran together after going in a few dungeons or forts.

Definately better weapons. Most of the weapons got boring and i just didnt like any of them. There should be a lot more rare items like weapons or armor that would make the game funner to explore and try to find these things.

Maybe stop the leveling of NPC's and enemies when you level. If your a high level badass then you should be able to pwn anyone who gets in your way. although just to make it a little more of a challenge maybe slowly introduce better enemies as you level but not a ridiculous amount although oblivion sort of had this.

More races and better customizing

More clothes and clothes that actually look good when you wear it. Most of the clothes and armor in my opinion looked really ugly and i never wanted to wear any of it.

Make sneaking and assassinating actually useful in the game. More assassins and maybe bring in some sort of "ninja" form.

Also maybe make some throwing knives or poison tipped darts

These are just a few ideas

Oh and i think making it multiplayer would make it ridiculously laggy and would probably end up taking away from the game so i wouldnt mind at all if it stayed single player

1. Please don't make every place in the game look the same. I like forests, and I like snow, but I also like variation. I can't think of a single outdoor environment that was either of these two things.

2. Why can't I fast travel while inside?

3. All those changes that went into Fallout 3 that made it a better game than Oblivion? Keep them. Or if they can only keep one, make it the leveling system of Fallout 3, minus the cap.

Remake Morrowind but whack in some of the things from Oblivion. Even if they changed the stroy and goings on just to carry on the story with something new I'd be happy. The extra things to do in Morrowind were a lot better than in Oblivion IMO. The skills arrangement in Morrowind was much better as well for me (the whole Major, Minor and Misc. thing with skills such as unarmoured and spears being chucked in).

Things to add from Oblivion:
-Character movement and graphical improvements (obvious one, just please revert to the old Argonian and Khajiit bodies).
-Horses, but leave fast travelling out. Fast travelling killed some of the experience for me.
-The inventory system.
-The music, having the same music playing constantly in Morrowind was a little annoying after a while even if I did like the tune.
-The combat system. The dice rolling style thing just isn't my kind of thing for that sort of game.
-The way that spellcasting worked, without having to actually equip the spell as if it were a weapon.
-Racials being passive rather than spells (e.g. the Argonian water breathing used to come as part of a racial spell rather than a constant thing).

It's called modding...
That's the worst argument I've ever heard. First of all the gun mods are terrible and come out to just be staves. You could also just go to fpsbanana, download a bunch of modded quests, and scrap the idea in the first place.
Also, what about console users?

In any case, I want to see a bigger variety of skills, and I don't mean add an even weaker version of fireball to the roster. I'd like to see things like druid spells, conjuration spells for good/ neutral characters (that don't make you look like an Overlord fan), and even melee/ weapon skills if they can.

Coop. Not like MMO, certainly not that far, but the ability to say "Hey John, wanna go kill some trolls for that one quest today?" or "Hey, the Fighters Guild wants me to do some random task, wanna tag along?" Or heck, if they include opposing guilds and some sort of respawn system you could even get faction wars going down. In fact respawning may be essential for multiplayer...Or else some sort of revival/reincarnate feature. But Coop would be a fun thing to add for those players who want a Coop RPG without it being MMO.

What would I like to see?

1) No disjointed conversations about mudcrabs;

2) Fewer generic dungeons. Oblivion's problem was that there was a ton of stuff in the world and you could likely fire an arrow in a random direction and hit an Ayleid ruin, but what did you see when you got in the dungeon? The same shit you saw in the last Ayleid ruin with a minor layout change, and perhaps a different set of mobs;

3) More items, the beauty of Oblivion's predecessor, Morrowind, was that it was lovingly crafted with many legendary items to find for the questing hero who took time out to explore. In Oblivion you are not rewarded for exploring;

4) Bethesda has the worst luck with their engines, they are generally poorly optimised and are prone to crashing if you so much as sneeze at an inopportune moment. Fallout was somewhat better in this regard, but there's still a long way to go.

I think working on horseback control would be good, maybe I'm just bad at riding the horses but I usually just stuck with walking. Also maybe have some companions like the mercenary in the Morrowind expansion and changes in the environment.

Oh also more factions like the political houses and the Imperial Legion from Morrowind but maybe instead of it being the Legion to begin with it could just be a town guard then promoted to the Legion.

Customizable armor and weapons.

Ability to name your Horse (I don't know why I want to so badly.)

Create-a-guild, complete with uniform and everything, could be used for PvP'ing.

You can do this to some extent on the PC by using the console. I did it once but then stopped bothering because it is definitely a convoluted way of doing things and doesn't benefit the console owners.

Look better than Oblivion (obviously)
Decent VO
More dynamic music
No fucking horse armour
More items (rather than thousands of books how about weapons and stuff you can use)
You have to specifically purchase the horse armor pack to get it. Why are you complaining about it?

OT:

I would like the ability to:

A. Choose my side in the main quest. I think the game will probably deal with a massive civil war in the empire, so it makes perfect sense that you'd be able to choose.

B. Rise through the ranks of the army and command many men into battle. There were a couple of points in Oblivion where they handed you some paltry strategic authority, and you could join the Imperial Legion faction in Morrowind (only to be sent on solo missions). However, despite how many other awesome things you can do in TES, I've always wanted to charge into battle with 12 men at my back and 20 in front of me. *

Actually, there's a mod for Oblivion called "Battle for Morrowind" that lets you do this. There's a Morrowind army invading Cyrodill fighting for their independence and you can join them and fight your way through the Cyrodill, laying waste to it. It ends in a siege of the Imperial City in which you take the council chamber, and afterwards you can choose to keep Bruma for Morrowind as tribute for their longlasting subjugation- but you won't get any aid from Bruma when the great gate opens in the main quest.

I reckon they should spend a great deal of time on it. Morrowind (I'm not sure how long it was in production) had an amazing range of content, and it all fit together perfectly and immersively. Oblivion however, while still having a great range of choice, lacked the amount of content and magnitude of content of Morrowind. If you know what I mean : /

Apart from that although I'm sure these have been mentioned before...

More lifelike AI, I mean the way the behave. Also more variety between npc's, aesthetically and personality wise. Basically every character of a race looked the same... Not being racist of course, that's just really how I see it

More variety in combat. More ways to swing your weapon, more spells, more ways to cast spells, more ways to assassinate people, more ways to solve problems in the game (even though there is a deal of variety already).

As aforementioned, more quests, more kinds of quests, unique quests with better story. Make it more worthwhile to travel around by adding quests all around the joint.

Better mount system. Riding horses in oblivion always seemed clunky. Also to add to that, more kinds of mounts.

Better diplomacy system. Give persuasion more variety than that lame minigame (although khajit expressions in that were fucking hilarious)

Weapon and armour crafting system could be really well implemented... As long as they don't put in a thousand ghey crafting quests that will make you grind for hours. If they did it well, it could be really fun. In contribution to this, the environment could be entirely harvest-able.

More sets of armour

More spells. MOOOAAAAAR spells

Maybe a house building system? At least customization. This could add to the crafting system. Would be nice to be able to buy out land aswell.

More guilds, MOOOOAAAAAAAAAAR guilds, longer guild questlines that still stay fresh. Thieves guild was a bit of a drag with all the fencing.

-the NPC's dont stare at you when you talk to them
-more armour and weapons eg. lances, crossbows
-better armour and weapon customisation
-if it has any oblivion gates or similar things, to not make the screen go red and dark so you have to use night vision which just makes everything on the screen go bright and blue
-mounted combat.
-more types of destructive magic more than just lightining, fire balls or whatever that other thing is.
-have a better stealth and range systems.
-shorter load times than in oblivion
-more varied environment cyrodill was good but it felt all the same
