A very good list of some classic pain-in-the-ass enemies.Tumedus said:In terms of regular (not boss) enemies these are the first ones that pop to mind for me:
Goddamn birds in the side scroller ninja gaiden.
Red Chocobos from FF:Tactics
Hammer Brothers from Super Mario Bros.
And the hands that drop from the ceiling in the Zelda games.
Those things were annoying as hell on Insanity... every time I would hear that shriek I'd just groan and yell "Go away! I hate you!"Mr Dizazta said:![]()
OH GOD, NOT THE BANSHEE!
Well there is a very easy way to fight Havel the Rock, basically he will never leave that doorway at the bottom of the tower so what you want to do is lure him to the door, get him to make an attack but make sure you are pretty far back so it can't hit you and then run in and hit him while he is recovering, he should have a panic attack and run back to where he spawned and lose aggro on you. Since he never heals his health unless you die or use a bonfire you can just repeat this process to safely take him down. You definitely want the ring he drops if you're using heavy armor to stay under 50% equip load.lRookiel said:Okay, I'm new to Dark souls. I'm in the Darkroot garden playing as a tanky motherfucking Knight. No enemy has one hit killed me EVER. I walk up to a tower and there he is, standing JUST INSIDE the doorway to the right, Havel the Rock. I'm like "Pfft, stone ass dude with a hammer, no problem". He prepares a swing, I put up my shield and BAM! He one hit kills me THROUGH MY BLOCK!

See that thing on the right? That's his shield! IT'S AS BIG AS HE IS!
Is that... the first Descent?MichiganMuscle77 said:
agree about those chrysalids lol how many of those other enemies infect other humans and turn them into medium-high HP hard hitting monsters?tippy2k2 said:I really SHOULD be putting enemies like the Muton's, Berserker's, Cyberdisk's, Commander Sectoids, etc. down for they are all much more dangerous but for some reason, the Chrysalid is the only one that I fear even though one hasn't been near my squad due to getting completely destroyed by my squad. Shit, I've lost...fifteen men or so in my second play-through and Muton's have killed 3/4 of them...Rose and Thorn said:el snip
Psh... get a decent skill with guns and a sniper rifle and Cazadores are easy pickings. But I can see how they would be a pain for melee characters. The Crotch said:I often play melee-oriented characters, so...

Another person who has heard of Drakan! I thought I was the only one in the world at this point. Considering it's my favorite game of all time it gets kinda frustrating to know how obscure it is. I mean come on, it's a dragon rider game that actually lets you freely fly around on your dragon (shock and horror), has fun interactions between dragon and rider and doesn't have 5 different "fuck you player" endings (*cough* Drakengard *cough*). The PS2 sequel was entirely open world too. This franchise so deserves to come back to life... But I doubt Warner even know they own it.NoPants2win said:The double flaming sword guys from Drakan. They had little shields on their forearms and if they managed to block your attack they'd cut you down and then burn you to death. The first time I fought one it killed me over a dozen times.
