As Alice tussled with her foe, Sam moved in to finish off the original PH. He got all up in its' grill, smacked it across the head with a dumbbell, then dropped it and pulled a stop-sign out of his bag which he thrust into the Head's stomach, before finally flicking his scythe off the ground with one foot and using it to rend a hole in the monstrosity's body. Sensing defeat, the horror tipped its' head back and let out an awful roar, signaling to its' brethren that death was upon them. Of course, the majority didn't hear him, being dead and all, so he roared again, and their corpses started to drift towards it. When the atomized remains of Pyramid Blue neared its feet, it picked him up and started eating him, feeding the charred flesh through a slot in his visor. Sam, irritated by the amount of attention the beast was paying him, leapt into the air and brought his scythe's blade down toward its' head, but the monster simply raised a hand and blocked the blade with his forearm, before batting Sam away like an insect. Slowly but steadily, with nothing to be done to stop it, the Pyramid head ate all three of its' fallen companions, before moving on to the final one.
Alice was making ground; her strikes were augmented nicely by Ryan's sword, and the creature was taking heavy damage. The red PH marched over, stepped between Alice and her foe and stuck a hand through Pink's chest. Alice thrust her blade towards her new foe, but without turning around he knocked the sword out of her hand and got on with eating his old ally.
Once his meal was finished, the remaining Pyramid Head roared once more and grew to three times his original size. He picked up one of the blades of his fallen comrades and wielded his knives, one to each hand, before bearing down on Isaac and attempting to hack him up. Zack dived out of the way, then recalled his position in the group and dived back in the way, attempting to stop the blade from hitting Li'l Ryan and Vanessa. Isaac blocked the great knife with his own blade, but utterly neglected to do anything about the Pyramid Head's second knife, which was now swinging down towards him from the left. Just before blade met boy, Phil swooped down, Infinity Staff back in hand, and intercepted the ridiculously large weapon. Not allowing this to get the better of him, the Head raised its' left boot and tried to stomp on Ryan and Nessie's rocky enclosure, but met instead with the Shrike, who sent a bloody great spike through the soft part of his foot. Time and time again the beast attempted to squash the children, and time and time again its' blows were intercepted by the power of teamwork. Eventually the beast relented, taking a few steps back before rushing the plucky young heroes again. Sam gave the signal that he'd totally told everyone about and you only missed 'cause you weren't paying attention, and as one the team rushed forwards, performing the opening to a ludicrously epic team attack which sent viewer ratings through the roof and had to be censored in several countries due to the pure unleaded amounts of epic causing kids' heads to explode.
"Well then," Sam said, hopping off the smoking remains of the Giant Pyramid Head's chest and landing next to Phil, who was attempting to yank his staff out of the beast's leg. "I'd say that's our first major battle just about wrapped up." The Head appeared to stir, and Alice, floating above it slightly, let rip with another mega-laser, blasting both its' remaining limbs off. "Shall we go then?" Sam led the way back up the stairs, then down the corridor to the exit of the hospital. "So then; what have we learned from this?"
"I'm a reality-crushing god who undersells himself way too much?" Yoshi suggested.
"No character sheet in the world can contain my amazing power, and if I'd remembered to write everything down on that form all of time and space would converge in on that point, then explode?" Ryan put forward.
"Despite my "spiky" exterior, I'm actually a pretty nice guy?" Shrike added.
"It only took me one major battle to lose my oldest companion?" Alice contributed.
"My brief respite made me really broody and serious?" Isaac pondered.
"I missed this all way too much?" Phil inquired.
"...You know what, yeah, that'll do," Sam said, smiling. He kicked open the doors to the bizarrely aptly named "Tutorial Level Clinic" and stepped out into the sunlight.
