Sai stomped across the sand angrily, occasionally glancing back to see a small lump still following her. She had given it a small bag of dry food to carry, since it had bugged her non-stop about it.
"So, strange traveller! Where do you come from? Florghas asked cheerfully as it bobbed up and down along the sand. Sai still wasn't sure what exactly it was.. It was the same colour as the sand, except for the eyes, and even though it retained a solid shape it seemed to be fluid.
"I don't really like talking while I'm walking." She said to it, trying to keep ahead of the blob.
"Of course, you must be tired after you fell from the sky. The oasis is very close now!".
They walked in silence for almost an hour, before Sai spotted a withered looking palm tree over the next sand hill. She ran up the slippery sand, but halted as she reached the top. The tree was surrounded by more sand, and nothing else.
"Welcome to our Oasis, traveller!" Florghas said as it joined her at the top of the hill.
"This is your fucking Oasis?" Sai raged, removing the goggles from her eyes and putting them back on her head. "It's just more sand!"
"Ah! To the untrained eye it may seem like more sand, but to a sand ghoblibikin like myself, we can see exactly where the water is hidden." Florghas said confidently, heading down the slope towards the tree.
"Gobil.. What?!?" She walked after the blob, still trying to figure out what it said.
