Well I don't think I'm anywhere near getting Prolific yet. That's mainly because I post about 100 times in the same topic. Also during those two months you've posted a fair amount more than I have in seven, so, I think you'll be alright getting the badges quickly. But yeah, I also have no idea of my progression on Prolific. I'd guess I'm just under half way, maybe.

Yeah I've noticed I seem to be on here a lot... The weird thing is, I probably play video games less now than when I wasn't on the Escapist. Then again I hang around off topic 85% of the time so I'm not really talking much about games anyway. I do the same amount of study though... that was one thing that was concerning me. Phew! Not an issue!

It took me 1900 posts or so to nab prolific... and as far as I can gather its a fairly similar story for other people. So yeah you might have a little way to go. Its sweet when you do get it though - as you said, a nice surprise!

I think my experience with Prolific will be along the same lines as yours then I like to hang around in a topic rather than post and move on.

However, being that I've awarded it, I can tell you some of the things that it MIGHT be:

- Defeating the same person several times
- Defeating an army worth a hell of a lot more than yours
- Defeating an enemy using only one type of unit
- Defeating an enemy but only attacking types you are weak against
- Begging John Funk on penalty of death

How soon are badges awarded after earning them? I thought of your number four theory myself, and decided to test it. I finally (finally) managed to complete both 3 and 4 (defeated an opponent's Tricksters using only a single stack of Chargers), so...

Well all the Genre Wars badges are supposed to be instant and if they're not, it's a bug. I didn't get mine instantly but I think they noticed that and fixed the bug as the update page says that badge's hand-out bug has been fixed.

In that case, I'm gonna' tell em' I've beaten everyone on the list. See if I get a "OMFG U PWN" badge.

I don't see how Nivag's theory (I'm not saying it's wrong) of defeating the same person 11 times in a row works, as the tagline "KHAN" wouldn't really make much sense.

I've never been a Star Trek fan so it's up to you to tell us what it most likely is. The thing is, the badges also usually reflect their titles and image. Is there anyway the Star Trek episode could be related to "Berserker" and an axe + mace?

No. I don't remember so.

Although, could be a nod to the soviet army's logo.

Well for Berserker, it's either a bug, or I've got it wrong. Genre Veteran must be a bug. Post it in the bug section of Genre Wars and they'll probs look into it.

Yeah there's definitely some bugs with the badge awarding. It seems like an understandable problem for badges to occasionally not be hadned out, but for badges to be handed out to people who haven't earned them? That's pretty weird.

Well, the mods can't exactly take badges back, so you should be thankful for what you have before they fix the system.

Purple Rains greatest quotes ever is 1000 views of from Forum Inferno (or was so a couple of days ago). Someone (can't remember now) got it for the 'most oh shit moment in a game' so theres a couple of non staff threads that have succeded in getting it.
