They were really creative with the third red faction badge.
I hope there is a 4th
Yeah I have to admit, that was pretty lazy :p Still. UPDATE.
Yeah, but they make the badges, so they get to be lazy :D

Still, they can always change the way the badges look if they really wanted to... didn't they add something to one of the March Madness ones?

I can tell that you were being satirical. No need for alarm :D

And I agree, though the spacing of the quantity of posts is off. Needs more Matrix... and the Oracle WAS one of the most powerful beings in the whole thing, no? Here's how it should work:

100:Trinity
1000:Ghost, Naomi, SOMEBODY ELSE
3000:Smith
5000:Morpheus
7000:Neo
8500:Oracle
10,000:Architect

I put the Architect at 10,000 because as a old guy, he represents seniority.

But we should stop clogging up this thread with our silly litte fantasy badge lineups :D

Absolutely fantastic. Lord Krunk, I congratulate thee, on creating a thread as useful as this. I'm in favor of it being stickied, if that's possible.
Again, well done, and I have no critique in particular, other than the fact that I'd like to raise a complaint about the Neo badge- I do recognize that the Neo badge is awarded for those that have proven to have incredible worth, and those that have proven to be truly useful to the community, but may I suggest that the requirements for the badge be edited to 3000 posts, or 3500 posts?

Maybe even 4000 posts? 5000 posts seems like an impassable wall for more than a few people, and I'm sure I speak for the badge enthusiasts when I say its requirements may be a little too steep.
That's sort of the point though, isn't it? To be unattainable save by the most pure souls?

Honestly, I like the Neo badge being as hard as it is: instead of lowering that one's post count, I'm in favor of making a badge in between Morpheus and Neo, for 3000 posts. There has to be at least one other character that people love... *cough* Smith *cough*

Besides, as long as we keep being nice, civil people on the forums, and try to avoid getting baited, the Neo is only a long way away, and not impossible in the least.
Know what I think? The Neo badge should totally be 3000, and there should be a Smith badge for 4000, and an Oracle/Architect badge for 5000. That's just me as a Matrix fanboy though. I would KILL for an Oracle/Architect badge. I really would.

That said, as long as you follow all the rules, and be courteous and kind, I believe you'll be saved from the wrath of the Banhammer. Folks, we must follow the teachings of the lord Jeebus Susan who did come down from the heavens on her mystical pony if we are to survive. Amen!*

*Note: the post above is 99% satirical, 1% mod worship in the same way people worship elder gods. it is not meant to be offensive to any Christians or born-again Christians or anyone else. I know you know where I live. please don't hurt me.

Based on a discussion scotth266 and I were having, I was thinking we could maybe come up with some kind of petition to the almighty mods, to see if they might be amenable to reorganizing the Trinity/Morpheus/Neo badges, and maybe making the Neo badge easier to get, like making it available after 3000 posts, or 3500 posts, and adding a new badge, possibly 'Smith' for 4000/4500 posts.

What do you think? Is it possible, or unfeasible?

And I'd like to stick my vote in on this plan. More shiny things is always encouraging, especially when it involve the Matrix.

I know. I was just lazy and wanted to quote them quickly. :p

Honestly though, a new badge like the Architect or the Oracle could really only be possible if that badge took the 5000-post slot and the Neo badge was reduced to 3500 or 3000 or something. Otherwise, with the Neo badge requiring 5000 posts, less than 1 percent of the Escapist would be able to have the badge, just like with the Neo badge.

I think they're fine, though I would have liked to see an Agent Smith one. More importantly:

The Morpheus badge needs to be changed from 1000 posts to 1337 posts.

haha.. but no, seriously. How do you get the Berserker badge.
I seriously can't tell you the exact answer. Pretty sure it's for pwning the same person over 10 times.
Unless it's hugely glitchy, you can scratch that off. I made a friend of mine walk his pirates under my ninjas a heap of times; got Unconquerable for 11 wins in a row, but no Berserk for 10 times beating the same person.

We're back to square one.
Hmm. I think it must be glitchy. Unconquerable is for 11 wins in a row. I don't think Berseker has to be in a row, but it has to be the same person. I tried loads of things to get it and that was one of them so, it could have been one of the other things I tried but I tried so many things a once I never found out which one it was that gave me it.
Well If it would help I'd be willing let somebody crush my army 10 times.
[sup]seems to happen anyway[/sup]

But I think thats cheating.

I don't think that the mods would consider that as cheating, though I suppose it's a valid concern. To ensure that we do not envoke wrathiness, asking a mod is in order. I would do so myself, I just have no idea who to ask :D

It's fine. They've already made a necessary precaution. If you fight the same person several times, you start getting a message saying you can't win any more cash from this person. The fact that they've put some kind of restriction there means they've obviously thought about stat-padding, grinding, etc and decided on what they are and aren't ok with.

Also, just a note that I HAVE noticed the Project Powder badges, and will be adding them shortly.

I just had a thought: maybe Beserker means you have to challenge or win against a certain number of people in a certain amount of time? It would make sense for the badge name...

And if not, perhaps it this sort of thing is a yet-to-be-discovered badge?
Ahhhh that's a good idea, you might be right there. And I have it, so it's definitely attainable :p Or is that not what you meant?
I'm pretty sure you were on the right track with your "Ten battles against teh same guy". I just got it. I got a friend to make a dummy account and let me pummel him mercilessly, and after I'd say at least 20 battles, I suddenly got it. Then again, I was attacking him over and over really quickly, so the whole "Certain amount in a certain time" would make sense too.

NOTHING IS EVER SIMPLE. EVER.
I gave that "certain amount (of victories?) in a certain time"-theory a shot, and it worked. To get the Berserker-badge, you need to be reckless and relentlessly attack everyone in sight. It doesn´t have to be the same opponent every time. Those new bots we have make this pretty easy, since they are always there.

We have bots now? If so, I guess that I'll test my theory out. I'm glad that I thought that idea up!

I don't hold much hope for you: the quote implies that only one person may own the badge...

Indeed we do, and if I may say, they make badge hunting a bit too easy. But that´s just me.

And I too am glad you thought that idea up; It´s a great idea. Congratulations!
