Why yes we are, should we add in the mystery badge, or figure it out first?
Nivag's said in the past that he won't add a badge to the gallery until we're certain what it's achieved for. The only exceptions to this are Russ Pitts' Columnist badge and the OMG Pony!!1 badge, which we just say are awarded by and for the staff at their own pleasure, because they are. All other badges it's preferred if we can find out how to get them before putting them in the badge gallery.

Yeah, that makes sense.
I'm just intrigued...

It's moments like this why it's good we have a gallery and a user-group. In the gallery we're just tour guides but in the user group we're more like... detectives... or even paparazzi guys. I dunno where we would be today if user-groups hadn't been introduced. It's really boosted our goals. Anyways, there are more reasons. As the gallery is for presenting badges, we don't want people to turn up, see an awesome looking badge and then have absolutely no idea what it's about or how to get it. It's good to think of each badge like a painting. You don't present have painted works of art, do you. Adding a badge without a description is exactly the same. Of course, half way through typing this I did get bored and start talking utter crap. Was fun though.

I thought that's what long posts are for; Getting carried away half way through, and going off on a tangent.
I'd try using paragraph breaks, it looks less cluttered, and it makes it easier to read, just don't get carried away with it, you mostly need to have at least 1 and a bit lines on one side of it before you do, otherwise you look very very silly, and people might not take you seriously.

See that?
That was just off the top of my head, and not related to anything.
OT: You have a point there, and I agree not just because of that, but also because it makes me feel super cool, and sort of like batman, or Rorschach, but without the crazy street person bit.
[sub]Oh, and to shut up my inner grammar nazi, it's half painted works of art, not have[/sub]

Dude, you need to get yourself a persona. You never know what kinds of trouble you can get into if you don't have hero clothes and street clothes. Doesn't have to be complex. A moustache does the trick for me. Of course, it's a real moustache so instead of put on a fake one, I shave off my real one every time I'm on duty.

Until you get one, bury your face in a news paper every time something suspicious is going down.

A persona eh?
Ever heard of a person named "A bystander"?
Or occasionally, "An innocent bystander" to give my persona's full name.
I have many disguises, from tall black, skinny men, to short, white, fat women...
Next time you see someone help someone randomly...
Just think for a moment...

Alright I just randomly got a badge in my inbox called Decimator. If someone could tell me what it is.

I'm gonna hazard a guess that's something to do with Genre Wars - I just randomly got the Terminator badge (definitely from Genre Wars) which is odd 'cos I haven't played that in months.

An advertising tactic to remind people it's still there? Heh.

Same here. Perhaps it has something to do with January being the onofficial Arnold month...

That's what I was saying- I haven't played or been attacked in months, either.
It must be a bug.

Those Genre Wars badges were bugged: Delmar's been running around retroactively giving them to people who earned them.

Sorry about this. I guess this is a disadvantage to having a group and a thread. Here's the announcement from the group:

- Decimator - "See them driven before you!"
- Annihilator - "Hear the lamentations of their women!"

After 12 pages of solid research into these badges, we were finally told that our Genre Wars predictions were correct. And after it was noticed by the techs that some of us should have been awarded the badges, it was concluded that the badges were bugged. They have since been fixed and many of you will probably see them in your inbox.

Unfortunately we still don't know the specifics. We are sticking with our prediction that it's an upgrade to the 'Terminator' badge, for eliminating all 3 of your opponents units. Such as achieving 'Terminator' multiple times in a row. Any research you'd be willing to do for the group is very much appreciated.

Hi there, stranger
May I hazard a guess concerning the new Genre Wars badges? I may? Thanks.

My guess is, they are upgrades to "Berserker", or at least one of them may be. When I still used to play GW, I tried to win as many battles as I could without returning to base, just to see if there were any badges for that. I don´t remember the exact numbers anymore, but I won ≥10 battles, to no avail. Now, I haven´t played since then, but still I got both "Decimator" and "Annihilator".

That´s the only lead I have. Could be wrong, but give it a shot

We considered that too at some point but one of the clues we were originally given was that they're in set of 3, and lots of people already had the 1st, but nobody had the 2nd. Berserker is the 2nd in a set so it was ruled out.

Hmm, good point. Perhaps it is then for crushing repeatedly the same faction...I don´t know. For all I know, it could be just another bug that distributes them to wrong people. I´ll get back to you, if I come up with something.
