Yo,

Sorry took so long to reply. I'm waiting on everyone's pieces to trickle in, so in terms of progress, well, there isn't any yet but I am hopeful :)

Looking forward to hearing your parts though.
Upon playing it through a few times, the thing I was worried about with the solo has happened, I just can't keep up with my current level of skill. I might be able to supply the bass notes for that section, but the treble notes are just too quick sorry. Apart from that it is fine... hopefully get a recording out in the next few days. I've been busy with work, we've just opened a new store and I've been doing 32-40 hours a week, yikes!
The chord changes do happen really fast, but that's why you do different voicings and inversions, so you change at maximum two notes.

So I've finally "recorded" me playing something.

Was feeling down today so I decided to solo. This is my arrangement of Autumn Leaves, I had to do a full band arrangement for it for an assignment so I decided to play it on bass first.

Anyways.. I made a few mistakes and totally forgot the B section, so I wanked around for a bit till my phone ran out of space and stopped recording.

Mmm... Enjoy?

Also - OP has be down as playing Guitar.. I play bass =)

Ahhh... I didn't actually know that, it's good to know!

Due to limitations on the amount of characters I can write within a post before it messes up on me and becomes uneditable (which is happening all of the time now with the amount of videos) I'm going to be taking down the links to the posts themselves within the OP (or second OP I guess). I'll keep on adding the links to members videos, but to try and save some space for coding those additions will be taken out.

Edit: Sorry Neonbob, you did some fantastic work with the coding for those videos, but space limitations have messed it up a bit. It was a good thing to have whilst it lasted!

Blah..

I tried to get a recording of Blackbird for you guys but I couldn't play it well enough. I think its the most technical song I can play so I want to get it right, including the right speed and everything. I got 44/50 for it when I did it for my exam so I know I can do it.

I'll keep working on it =D

If it's the technically best song you can play I'd love to see it! Go for it! My best would be Eyes on Me probably, and that's full of mistakes in my video. It's hard to get good recordings of things like that.

Just do what you can mate, I'm sure it'll be groovy anyway. You can even send me multiple takes. Just doing a different set of notes at a time and I might be able to fit them all together for you...

I'm just downloading the clip now. It'll take ages, my interweb is shit so I spend most my time posting on my iphone believe it or not. I'll let you know if it's all good...

EDIT: Yeah, good job mate. I look forward to being able to piece the other parts together when they arrive...

This is a general shout out to anyone interested in joining the fun, I still need someone to submit guitar and bass tracks... See within the thread for more info and PM me if interested...

I keep on forgetting you can mix several takes together! Ok, I finally have a few days off work so I'll ensure I get a couple of takes to you over the next few days, it'll stop me feeling guilty about not doing it yet at least!

Thanks. Unfortunately I couldn't get a video recording but if you want one I'll see if I can fake one on my acoustic and match the video to the sound. May take a while, though, my little sister is the current posessor of my mum's camera so I would need to get it off her.

I'm really starting to get excited about this recording, though.

Link to 'Changes Weekly' - The band i'm in. The recordings are pretty shocking to be honest.
I'm the bassist.

Where's my orchestra to back me up?

I actually had to do several takes on this one just to get my voice at a more bearable level. Also I messed up quite a bit. Oh yea, more acoustic!

Haha! I think I'm the only person on here who plays violin (and I've only done so for two weeks or so), so it's not quite an orchestra! It would be awesome though!

Hey I am a bassist and I have been playing for a few years (I may post some of my music here) and I have a little constructive criticism.

Please turn up the bass amp it will help with your synchronization, also try not using a pick and see how it sounds.

Keep Practicing!

I think you might have accidentally quoted me instead of handofpwn!

Ok...it took me ages but I finally have the Stargate SG-1 theme song ready for display.

Here it is:

Please comment and rate...it is both:

My first youtube video
My second ever piece on the piano

I am really quite content with that performance.

Next I will be learning Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton ('cause I love it, not cause of the meme!).

Enjoy the vid

Awesome! I love it! I remember watching Stargate all those years ago, and I always enjoyed the opening theme for it, so hearing it on the piano was great to hear!

You do miss the use of a pedal though, those silences between bars could be expertly meshed together with one, but sadly that is one of the limitations of a keyboard, that and no volume variation. Still these things aren't your fault, so what you've done is great! I'd love to hear your next piece (Super Mario something from memory?)
