I'm interested in hearing other people's estimations of any dominant traits that come to mind when thinking about the Escapist's forum userbase as a whole? In other words, are there any commonalities amongst the people who choose to reside here?

As far as I can tell, based on all the threads I've browsed through, the most common description of an Escapist member is a socially-awkward atheistic lesbian combat arts master[footnote]There may be some margin of error in my research.[/footnote].

Some major margin of error I would say ^^

OT: Suicidal, for some reason nearly everyone posting seems to at one point thought about suicide.

A common cult-like devotion to my little pony friendship is magic comes to mind first. Then comes the anime, videogame, and movie random facts.

Well, I'm a necromancer who has spent a few millenia in exile and is just looking for a good cup of tea. And maybe just a bit of world domination.

And I might be a lesbian.

But I'd say the entire userbase wants to kill at least half of the rest of the userbase.

>.> that'd be, nice

but incorrect .... after the first 2 words anyway
I have to agree.

I know nothing about martial arts! But i do know intimate knowledge of over 50 firearms.
So i guess "combat arts" master would fit much better.

From what I've seen on the escapist when it comes to sexuality. Most of the members seem to be

1. Bi
2. Trans gendered
3. A nonsexual or something like that the name escapes me
4. Not is getting any

The people who I consider not to be lying just to be different, are the Gay and straight people That post around here. I mean honestly how many nonsexual people can there be, and why are they all gamers? Ehh, maybe I'm just a bigot I don't realize it yet.

Politically most the member seem to be socialists, a handful communist, liberal, democrat. I AM NOT CALLING THOSE A BAD THING OR WRONG. I mean any system could work if carried out the right way I suppose. Its just what I see.

Thought the one thing all the escapist members seem to have in common and this might shock you. There most commonly gamers.

The members here?

Mostly aliens.

Some of them probably still figuring out how make fire out of twigs.
Some others probably having fallen from the sky (and hurt their head pretty bad)
Still others are dreaming strange dreams, of their sunken city maybe?
And then we have those tentacle picked few, who might be from my planet home dimension because at least they have some sort of understandable humor.
But the huge rest, the vast majority of the probably bipedal reptoid insect aliens of crystaline origin (93,47123421% according to my calculation) are just posting gibberish posts of almost complete nonunderstanble utterance of topics so strange and peregrine that even my Babelfish doesn't help one bit.

Hmm, well I'm on the escapist, and I'm awesome.

So that only leads me to one conclusion...

We must have a royal rumble to see who is the most awesomest.

Seems like most of the userbase favors singleplayer indie games with rich narrative and innovation, and damn any popular triple A big budget games or any game with a focus on multiplayer.

I'm glad I'm not those type of people.

I've gotten the impression that the userbase is mainly made up of anti-piracy suckers of corporate co... Well you get the idea without me having to get too graphic.

And yes, it does sadden me how so many people who actually claim to like video games can be so easily duped by corporate propaganda...

Your cover, not mine!
Each race for themselves, ever since that incident at Alpha Centauri where you guys didn't show up and we had all the mopping-up to do all by our selves.
And if your technicians are unable to fix that stupid neuralizer of yours, well then tough luck!
What? Don't seriously tell me you didn't bring one!

You're one of those people huh.

The only one who can truly see the world for what it is and can't believe that we're all suckers who fall for 'corporate propaganda'.

You don't happen to own a Chez Guevara t-shirt by any chance do you?

I'm just paranoid but I feel that there's about 90% of people (who post) that don't read much of a thread besides the opening post, and 10% that do. :D

The second description I'd like to put on the members of the Escapist forums is the fact that the fun ones are often the ones that are eight ways bananas. I'd like to thank those people for taking time out of their hectic lives to post things that I consider to be batshit crazy, but make me laugh anyway.
