Silly little question about the multi-player. I was just wondering, I'm often playing a scout/'camper hunter' class; Bling (heartbeat sensor + silencer), Cold Blooded, and Ninja to hunt down people (so satisfying) and root out campers. It's very fun, but I'm having some problems with my main weapon, the M4A1. You see, it takes a full friggin' clip to kill someone, it's quite weak. What main weapon would my fellow MW2 players recommend for that purpose? I would rather not use an SMG like the P90 because I can't use the heartbeat sensor with that, I feel naked without.

The SCAR H is effective, but I have found the silencer seriously nerfs every gun, either that or I'm too used to playing with Stopping Power.

Has anyone got wierd sound issues with this game?

Sometimes when I change weapons or start a game it makes this wierd little buzzing blip noise, like an analogue bass synth.

Is that part of the sound design or am I alone in this?

This is just a quick question to help me decide how I should buy the game. Does the PC version game, in its physical medium, require you to input the disc every time you want to play, or does it work like Valve games do when you buy them in the box (i.e. as if you downloaded them from Steam)? I'm only asking because I've heard that the game is fully integrated into Steam, and I like how when you download games from Steam, you don't need a disc (obviously), but I'd like to own a physical copy of MW2 rather than just DL it, so I'd figure I'd ask it would work the same.

NOTE- Yes, I do know what disc cracks are, and no, I'm not going to use one.

I tried the SCAR, but the slow rate of fire screws me over on 1 on 1 fights. However, it might help if I work on my stealth tactics. Afterall, with the silencer they won't see me on the radar, and before they've actually found me and took aim they might be dead already. The M4 gave them plenty of time though, so many "Why won't you DIE!!!" moments. I love the SCAR with Stopping Power though, I use it in both my Assault (long range and normal) classes.

Anyway, I'm very curious about the ACR, not that I'll unlock it very soon (first have to get the M16, but that's burst, not good for my Scout class) but I wonder how it performs.

Yes, Steam lets you run the game without having the disc in.

Ok, I found an awesome class for death match and team death match on certain maps. It is VERY odd, but most people don't expect it, and it is quite funny. Keep in mind, this only works on certain maps. First you'll need Commando Pro, Marathon, and Cold Blooded unlocked. Also, choose your favorite pistol (not automatic) and rack up 75 kills to unlock the tactical knife. I use a sniper as my main gun just for the camo, it can help in certain situations.

Basically, you just knife people, with the tactical knife and commando on, you can lunge a surprisingly large distance. Seriously, I tried I death match with this on Highrise and won by about 6 kills. If you flank correctly and ambush well, you should get good K/D ratios, and usually get the most kills on your team.

I know it sounds weird, but damn it works well.

Having problems on Veteran.
Im on the part where you have to run down to the EAC site wth the Files in "Loos Ends"
However since the game jsut randomly spawns dozens of enemies behind me to make me want to fucking murder he staff at IW. Anyone got any tips for this part?
Run up the left side by the electrical towers.

Ignore all the dudes spawning behind you by the water. Run.

When the horde spawns in front of you, throw flashbangs and move quickly towards the opposite side, hip firing the blinded enemies as you go.

The cutoff point where the chopper arrives is actually much closer than it seems, all you have to do is get over the ridge of the hill and you're there.

That level was the only one that gave me any trouble on Veteran, it was very tough.

This should help you:

I was out fo flashbangs when I did it. I just went prone and sparyed everywhere, Ghost got the last 2 kills.
It wasnt nearly as hard as making it to the sub in 2 minutes on Contingency. That. Was. Fucking. Hard.
Oh yeah... gorgot about that bit. That was nasty alright. Predator missiles are my best friend in that part. Except when I blow myself up.

I actually found the campaign on normal difficulty harder than COD4, but on Veteran a lot easier. There wasn't a huge difference between the difficulty levels.

I have a quick question. Does the tactical nuke really pad our your kills when used? (NOTE: Playing the PS3 version)

I ask this because the other evening I saw something a little unbelievable in a single game of domination. After what seemed like 3-4 into the match, it was ended with a tac-nuke. The top player had 106 kills and 6 deaths. I was a little stunned.

Whats the general opinion of multiplayer so far? I finished the main campaign last night and am eager to lock and load against you guys =P
It's great. A lot more accessible than COD4.

However, SMGs are a little underpowered, I have heard people complain that Assault rifles out-class everything else too much (and i would be inclined to agree) and the matchmaking can be very frustrating.

I would have to agree, although I adore the feel of the MP5K. I just like it. That's how I choose my favourite guns. I avoid stats as they complicate things, and I go for feelings.

For instance - Silenced SCAR With Stopping Power. I love the SCAR's iron sights. So much so that I actually prefer them to the RDS, and with a silencer, that gun officially becomes unfair for me to use. It is useless as a stealth class because of the lack of Cold Blooded for power reasons, but I love it so much.

Only in one game has it failed to earn me a killstreak, when I wasn't lagging or being glitched, and that was the spawn system. Anyone else feel like the spawn system still has the same problems as the old one? It still puts me in front of enemies, it still gets stuck in corners. Earlier my team got spawn camped to hell and back on Favela, as the game spawned us in one corner and kept us there. If you know Favela, you will be aware that the buildings all look out onto the alleys and whatnot, and all of the enemy team were holed up in buildings opposite our spawning corner and mowed us down trying to escape. They called in five Predator missiles, three Helicopters, two Harrier Strikes and one Pave Low. We just couldn't move because the spawn system would not help us, and literally spawned us into the gunsights of enemies.

Dude, I totally agree.

There have been at least three occasions in the last few days where I was on a great streak, mowing down the other team only to have three or four of them spawn right behind me and annihalate me from behind.

Karachi seems to be the worst map for this carry on. Very annoying.

Also, I agree about the MP5K... it may be completely nerfed but damn, does it feel good to use, especially in the single player. It also looks beyond awesome with the red camo...
