I have already seen it (Russian premiere was yesterday).
I loved the shit out of it.
It might be light on any sense, but it's definitely well-made.
How was the bodycount? Was there lots of action?

And what did the review say? Because if they bitched about a bad plot or something then I'd be kinda pissed. It's part of the genre! Fuck the plot and shoot some shit!

If you don't like it, then maybe you should let someone else review it!

Sorry for the mini-rant there...
Lots of action. Fairly high bodycount. Great hand-to-hand fight scenes.
The fact that this movie has a lower Metacritic than fucking Eclipse makes me really think the critics are out of their minds. But, oh well.
Go see it. You'll have one hell of a time but you won't remember much about it afterwards.
Awesome.

I think I'll wait till it goes to the shitty theater for the ultimate B-movie experience.

Im seeing it. I know there wont be that much of a plot, in depth story, and whatnot, im seeing it because they have 90% of all the good action stars from the 80s and 90s in there, theres going to be shit blowing up left, right, and center, and no doubt a mind numbing number of chessy one-liners. This is the shit I love from 80s and 90s action movies. That why I can watch Commando and Rambo movies without any though as to the skimpy story, Everyone thats a bad guy is getting their asses kicked and/or blown the fuck off with a machine gun. Thats what I like to see, I watch movies to entertain myself, not be hit with a philosphical mindfuck.

I'll be watching it in about 2 hours time. I'mnot even a fan of 80's action movies so I'm not even sure why I'm anticipating it so much.

Christ it stars pretty much every important action icon ever and people are expecting fucking Citizen Kane?

I woke up this morning and saw my morning paper. On the cover was The Expendables and it only had 1 1/2 star! This movie I thought was to be pure gold and I was so looking forward to seeing it. Question now is, if I read a bad review is this movie still worth seeing?
O and the 1/2 a star is a slap across the face. Thats worse then not having the star at all. Its like saying you could have been but you weren't. Funny those were almost the exact last words my x girlfriend said to me.
Because reviews are always right, right?

Wait....

Don't get where the hate was there. I quite liked it.

OT: I'll probably still see it, if only for the lolz.

And here I was expecting the most philosophically driven, perception altering, award winning movie since 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Damn it all!

/obvious sarcasm.

[HEADING=2]OF COURSE I'll still see it.[/HEADING]

The Expendables is not a movie one goes to see for the story. The movie is the story.

I saw reviewers give the A-team 1 star, and that only grudgingly. Thing is, whether or not a film is actually good has very little bearing on whether or not you'll enjoy it. It can be utter crap, with a story that makes very little sense (see: The A-Team), but it can still be fun, even without sinking into the 'so bad it's good' thing.

It's a lot of the biggest action stars of the last 15 years or so shoved together in a massive explosion-fest. No-one's expecting it to be a good film, but it's still going to be enjoyable!

This is why I like Movie Bob. He seems less pretentious than a lot of other critics, gauging a film on whether it will entertain, rather than on whether it brings something new and exciting to the field, or if it contains a high enough level of philosophical mind-fuckery. (for the record, I also like deeper, more meaningful/arty films, but I don't want every film to be Citizen Kane or The Prestige. Sometimes I just want to sit down and watch G.I Joe: Rise of Cobra)

Plus it has the most underrated actor of all time...Dolph Lundgren, because of his spiky hair, his ice cold demeanor, and his big muscles.

I really don't understand? They say that the movie has every big action movie star? Where's Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme? Aside from that, I don't think anyone is going to see this movie for the amazing story. I'll probably see it just to see it

I may see it, just for the sake of the surrealism of having the Governator in it.

and hell, sometimes critics are wrong!
His presence alone earned the full gold star.

I do believe that many critics are starting to take movies way to seriously. So what its not as sophisticated as Inception but it has every major action star from the past 20 years in it.

And Schwarzenegger!

The Expendables sucked? This doesn't come as a surprise to me at all.

I was never planning on seeing it.

Considering how I hate movies today I'm totally not seeing it, good reviews or not.

And I would read more reviews before judging the movie.

I knew it was going to suck.

The only reason i'm going to see it cause of the cast and the sountrack. Shinedown - diamond eyes.

You do realize, that the movie barely has any good actors in it. It doesn't have anything good in it. I'm looking forward to it because I presume that it will be so shit that it's amazing. Critics usually don't think of this point of view.

I pretty much knew it wasn't going to deliver. Adding more stars doesn't make the plot or action any better (unless you have some skills not all action stars have, ie Jet Li). Let's face it you could stick any actor as John McClane in Die Hard and the movie would still be same.

Also PR guys, when I think about huge action stars, Terry Crews doesn't ring a bell (honestly I regard him as more of a comedy actor). They could have at least got Michael Jai White.
