Guess we use the word differently. However, Predator did have some artistic achievement, it was interesting in it's own special way as well as having the awesome action scenes.Furburt said:In the words of Noah "Spoony" Antwiller, internet reviewer of note:Nazulu said:Damn, I was hoping this would be a classic. I thought with so many famous directors they would at least try to make it great. Now I'm hoping it will be dumb fun like Dynamite Warrior.
Does not compute. How the hell can it be bad and awesome at the same time?Furburt said:Predator? Bad.
"You see, movies don't necessarily have to be good to be awesome: When you hear that George Romero or Bruce Campbell's made a movie, you're pretty much obligated to go see it, not because you know it's gonna be a good movie, and certainly not because it's going to be any kind of artistic achievement, but because it's gonna be fucking awesome!"
Basically it.
Personally, I'll take awesome over good any day.
The way I saw it, the tactics and weapons the Predator used against the elites as well as the alien itself was kinda original. Also, I really like how they took some of the shots of the bush land, the camera angles and music created a creepy atmosphere of being stuck alone in the jungle, everything just worked so well together and that made this movie epic to me.Furburt said:Really? I wouldn't say that about it. Keep in mind, I love Predator, it's probably one of my favourite films, but I didn't find anything particularly artistic about it, at least none that I saw.Nazulu said:Guess we use the word differently. That's exactly why it sucks. It's clearly a movie that's trying to ride on the laurels of its famous names. Also all the ads have been about the names in the movie rather than the substance of the movie itself.AnAngryMoose said:I know it's probably going to be a pile of shit, but look at the cast! C'mon!
