If it had good reviews, I would have been surprised. There is going to be very little there than the appeal of seeing just about every major action star from the past 30 years making the manliest movie evar!

I'm gonna see it, because I know what I am going there expecting, and I will be happy with what I see.

They said A Team was crap and I really enjoyed it!

I'll be there for it. With the cast involved, I wouldn't expect a deep, thought provoking movie with plenty of social commentary. Who the hell cares! Not every movie needs to be Doctor Zhivago or (more recently) Inception. A movie like this will only happen once, unless it's a huge hit...and with Scott Pilgrim opening this weekend, I doubt it will make as much as originally intended. So yep, count me in.

I was intrigued when I first heard about it, and then I saw the trailer. It's just another generic gray action movie with no plot.

OK I got some questions
1. what newspaper did you read it in?
2. how many reviews have you seen of it and how many of them are bad?
3. even twilight and transformers got more stars then that and to you think this movie could be worse then either of those?

This movie would need to have really, really, exceptionally good action, like the best action ever filmed for me to want to see it. Strength of cast (figuratively, not literally) cannot carry a movie. And I couldn't possibly suspend my disbelief enough to make it.

It actually epitomizes what worries me about the upcoming Avengers movie, only The Expendables is worse.

In other news, reviews should never be the determining factor on whether or not you see a movie.

I never, ever, listen to reviewers anyway. The only person whose judgement I trust is me. If I like something, then I will think that it is good regardless of what anyone else in the world tells me otherwise. Especially when it comes to games, music, and films (which is why I'm not a Moviebob fan and why I like Yahtzee for entertainment and everything else other than his ideas of particular games...).

Anyway, I've seen The Losers. It was awesome. I saw The A-Team on Wednesday. It was awesome (and it's a very good testament to Quinton Jackson's acting ability that I didn't think about him compared to Mr. T as B.A. Baracus until much later after I'd finished watching the movie...).

So will I still see The Expendables? Yes, I will. Regardless of what any film reviewer says.

I woke up this morning and saw my morning paper. On the cover was The Expendables and it only had 1 1/2 star! This movie I thought was to be pure gold and I was so looking forward to seeing it. Question now is, if I read a bad review is this movie still worth seeing?
.
Never read a review before seeing a movie you've been looking forward to.

If you saw some bad reviews, what the critics said may stick in your head while watching it, as opposed to going in with an unpolluted opinion.

I definitely want to see it, but then again, I LOVE shitty movies... probably even more than good ones.

Aren't those the same people that gave the live action Scooby Doo movies 4 stars or whatever? They suck at rating movies. I listen to Movie Bob more than anyone else I don't actually know in person when it comes to movies...

The Expendables DID NOT suck. Just because you read a crappy review in a crappy newspaper it doesn't mean it sucked. I went to see it at a special screening last night at midnight and it was AWESOME. 8/10 from me.

One question.

With as many bad movies as all these guys have to their credit how did anyone for one second think this was actually going to be good?

Havent seen it, Dont know if it is or is not and wont till I see it. But the cast alone is enough to justify assuming its bad until proven otherwise.

I plan to watch it if I win free tickets in a contest that I have entered. But otherwise I will not; I have very little interest in motion pictures. (However, my interest in writing as though I were an English nobleman is immense.)

Saw the trailer and it had a plastic faced mumbling Stalone in it - that alone was enough to make me not want to see it

Also you can tell from the other big action movie actors in it (Willis and Arnie) that they are just trying to rope people in with that and likely compensating for something else.

Damn, I was hoping this would be a classic. I thought with so many famous directors they would at least try to make it great. Now I'm hoping it will be dumb fun like Dynamite Warrior.

Predator? Bad.
Does not compute. How the hell can it be bad and awesome at the same time?

I went to see Predators with my Brother to see some mindless scifi violence..but that movie sucked because it had such a lame cast. This however seems it is hitting the mindless violence on the nail and the cast is just pure gold. Can't wait to see it.

Seems to me, the only reason i would see that movie would be Jet Li.

But doesnt it have a really high score on IMDB?
