Assassin's Creed 1. I pre-ordered it because I had such high hopes, and after about ten minutes I realized it was not at all the game I wanted.

I climbed shit for an hour or so, then returned it.
That's a real shame you feel that way. If you're able to get past the monotony of the first game, towards the end, you're rewarded with a really rich story that's half based on fact, and really sets the mood perfectly for the second game.

Alone in the Dark, dear god Alone in the Dark! I only got it with my Xbox 360 because they were sold out of CoD4. I had hoped not having high hopes for it would help, but 10 minutes into the game and I was sick of it. Although it seems petty having to press a button every thirty seconds to clear my vision got old and tedious fast. I want to be able to take in my enviroment and see what I need to go, not be forced to deal with some shoehorned in game mechanic which really didn't need to be there.
Hahaha, you clearly didn't give the game a chance, as that "annoying blinking" actually becomes the only way to kill the cracks when you get much further in the game. It's not shoehorned in, it fits quite well. My only regret about that game was I bought it on PC, and it was a nightmare to finish. Still not a horrible game though. My suggestion is you actually get through more than 3 hours of the game before you make a statement like this.
I am not trying to be a douche, but AITD is indeed a fucking terrible game man. The inventory system (LOL U NEED FIRE TO DO ANYTHING), the stupid fucking black inky sludge stuff (LOL DO U HAVE GLOWSTICKS? NO? ALRIGHT MAN BETTER JUST PLAY ANOTHER GAME OR RELOAD YOUR SAVE), the physics (LOL U THREW A FLAMING AXE AND HIT A METAL DOOR TIME TO RELOAD YOUR GAME BECAUSE NOW THAT DOOR WON'T OPEN EVER) and the combat (DO U HAVE ANYTHING TO LIGHT US ON FIRE? NO? ALRIGHT, WE'RE GOING TO RAPE YOU NOW) make that the worst game I have ever played.

Ever.

I played the demo for the Star Wars Clone Wars game, for about 6 minutes. I then proceeded to retreat back into the arms of the much superior LEGO Star Wars games.

Prototype. Sat in my disc drive for a full 21 minutes before going back to the shop. 20 minutes of that was installing.

Final Fantasy 8, about an hour, and Final Fantasy 7 for about half an hour.

Those games just don't compare to 6 or 9 in my opinion.

Also, I love Jade Cocoon 2, but I can see why some people don't like it.
Its a very different type of game from the first, but I still hold both games in high regard.

Fallout 3. I gave it a fair go but the first couple of hours playing it were torturous and not entertaining in any way. I found the environment drab and boring, NPCs (while being pretty similar to the ones in Oblivion) grated on my nerves terribly, I found the combat system clunky and not immersive at all and most tellingly for an RPG I didn't give a shit what happened to anyone or anything in the whole game (except Liam Neeson because he's just awesome but even his melodic voice couldn't interest me in the storyline). The whole time I either wanted to play Call of Duty or Oblivion or something else I knew that would guarantee entertainment.

I've gotten to the stage where I can stand the game but that was only after about 20 episodic plays that built up a resistance to the boredom but I still hold no love for the game at all.

About 10 minutes into MGS4 when I found out that the interactivity was a 90 year old narcoleptic two-toed sloth, and that the plot clarity was a bowl of tar and spaghetti swirling towards a black hole...

It was probably an excellent game/movie in itself, but I could never get into it.

Fallout 3. Couldn't play the game for more than 10 minutes.
I don't know why this game got so many good reviews. Its shite.
Lacks atmosphere, like oblivion, but dead from the start, whereas oblivion took me a few days to hate.
Its nothing compared to fallout 2.
Bethesda shouldn't continue producing this sort of shit. Darkness isn't their thing.
The voice actors and audio producers they hire aren't cut out for the job, very poor choice.

Risen, the first time I pressed the spacebar and the character jumped like a flamingo in zero gravity.

Either Fallout 3, which took me like 10 minutes AFTER the opening stuff to find out just wasnt my thing at all.
Or Lost Odyssey which just started throwing random crap at me in an attempt to piss me off i guess

MW2 - i disliked it even before it was released
Never really understood this. I loved MW1 more than a man should love a game, and was incredibly amped about the new weapon selection, new maps and new perks for MW2.

Then I played it and realized it was the stupid action movie of videogames with none of the charm of a stupid action movie. Took itself way too seriously, made no sense, and lol javelin glitch.

Yep, Prototype did it for me too.
I hated the game after about 10 minutes when Alex Mercer started his whole " It's not my fault I'm a fucked up psychopath and that I like killing random pedestrians and guards that probably have a family".

Douche....

Chromehounds. It was so unbelievably bad! Stomping around in a giant mech should be fun like in every other game dammit!

I'm going to end up sounding like a broken record on this issue, but it always comes back to Darkened Skye for me, horrible, horrible game that besmirches the very name of gaming!
Played it for about 20 minutes (to give it a chance to get better.............It didn't)

Prey.

As soon as the protagonist opened his mouth I began to hate it, then it was cemented when I fired my first shot of the shitty guns.
