GO. JUST GO.

You don't have a place here for a comment like that. (See underline)

(No I am not racist, but the only thing that really has changed is skin colour. Ooo! Also, the first lady is decent looking, and young.)

Odd, how you chose my comment and not the other ones that mentioned Barrack Obama; also i am confused to how i has no place with such a comment, he is president after all

I can only believe all this Lincoln-love is born of ignorance. Do we really love authoritarianism, rule without consent, and empire that much? Might as well attack Iran and kill their women and children too, I suppose.

But seriously- Jefferson.

George Washington. He was the first and still greatest president we've had. He was a war hero who was instrumental in freeing the colonies from British rule. By all accounts, he was good at picking cabinet members who actually knew their stuff and could give him good advice. He resisted the pressure by some to stay in office for life (this was before term limits were enacted) which proves he wasn't corrupt. He was a man of high moral character who was a devout Christian. He lead the young country though some of the most trying times its ever had. We only think we have it bad these days. Even in the midst of the "Great Depression" of the 30's, the country had more infastructure, accumulated wealth and resources and the means to defend itself. During Washington's term, there were times when there was doubt that the U.S. could even survive as a nation. I recomend watchin the excellent HBO drama "John Adams" if you'd like a better idea of what life was like during Washington's day. Even better yet, read the great book it's based on.

He was the first and still the best, with a few exceptions like Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt, it's been downhill from there.

i voted Obama, i like Obama, i think Obama is on the right track to fix everything Bush and the republicans fucked up over the last 8 years.

however, to include him (now) as an example of the GREATEST presidents in American history is a little premature dont you think? if he pulls it all off and DOES turn the nation around than yes he would have a claim to being one of our better presidents, if he not only turns it around but actualy accomplishes things like nationel health care, and can deal with Iran and N korea, as well as managing to put some kinds of limits and controls that WORK on our economic system, than id certianly give him top billing myself, but for right now i think and honest observer would say that the reason he looks good atm is a combination of media bias and the fact that ANYONE would look great after Bush.

i cant say with a bit of self centered honesty that i HOPE (no ironey intended) that he can become one of the greatest, i like what im seeing so far from him, and seldom has a president had to work so hard just to get the nation back to 'even' after the disaster of a previous president, but hes not actualy DONE anything yet. so while im hoping that your case for him turns out to be right, its not at this moment.

so far his only claim to fame in the historical sense is that hes the first black president. while thats a mile stone that has been too long coming in my opinion it is hardly something that would rank him with some of the greatest leaders in our history now is it? and to any that may think it IS, i say, to imply that a persons skin color gives them some kind of claim to being special is racist, wether that comes from supporting him or opposing him doesnt matter. i dont care what his skin color is, i care what he DOES as president.

so far what hes done is fair, ending torture at gitmo alone is a great step in the right direction, not trying to hide it or cover it up is as well, laying down the law to the car companys is another smart move (if he makes it stick), and im willing to give him time to get a grip on wall street. i also like how hes willin to talk with anyone, especialy Cuba at the moment and how he even shook hands with that nut from Venezuela, it shows good judgment since we are either going to need to TALK with them or destroy them, im glad that unlike Bush hes atleast trying to talk first. but ........ the jury is still out on the end result. good start so far, but the judgment can only be made by how he finishes.

to say that hes one of the greatest NOW is like saying a NASCAR drive who won the pol is 'the greatest', in case you missd it the 'race' aint over yet and hes still got time to take us into a wall.

Dennis Haysbert was the best president. He survived probably 50 terrorist attacks. If that's not badass, what is? That's Allstate's stand.
