Well in most cases when I'm left alone in the field, I'll just go "fuck it" and run'n'gun till I die...

There have been times in the game when the chips are really down, and instead of doing what I usually do, which is loading my last quicksave, I've decided to fight things out.

Strangest thing is that sometimes I win.

In L4D, I've had plenty of those moments. Just recently I left my team to die, as they were all incapped and I had to rush for the chopper by myself. Then in another game, I was incapped myself, and the only guy close enough to me to revive me was at one health. It was quite dramatic watching him crawl towards me to help me up, but then a zombie hit him from behind and we were both left there, the other guys fighting their own battle for survival. I was quite literally, Left for dead.

I think the most satisfying moment of this was one time I was playing red alert 2 and my friend had simultaneously launched a major offensive, while also sneaking a helicopter's load of engineers behind my lines to capture my refineries. He caught me with my pants down and I only survived via a desperate combination of selling my refineries and most of my base to raise funds and soldiers and desperately building quick base defences to support my weaker main force. Amazingly I actually repelled his attack with the few tanks I had and the troops I got from selling my base stuff, and knowing that I didn't have much time before he rebuilt his forces for another attack wave by which time I really would be boned, I went straight for the jugular -- and luckily he hadn't any reserves! But really though, considering I was outnumbered 2-1 at that point, I think it was a mixture of his overconfidence and my frantic desperation that saved my arse.

Some of the best moments of gaming are spent in the last few seconds before being curb stomped by some enemy, in my opinion. M & B is good for this.. other games too. But it's always awesome when it's that last stand that actually wins it.

In FPS when my life drops to damn near zero I tend to just get reckless. Just sprint around trying to get off as many shots as I can before I die and I tend to kick major ass. Then as soon as I find a health pack I play more carefully and get ***** slapped again.
Kind of irritating isn't it? xD You run around, killing everyone and anyone around you and in your view, and are completely and untterly unscratched. Then you pick up a health pack, stop, and get headshot by a noob :( Maybe it's just surprising to see a crazy, half-dead man run straight at you with a pistol containing only 3 bullets D:

OT: Yes. I think it's what I subconsciously strive to find, the reason that I am a gamer. The amount of adrenaline induced by it is truly euphoric.

i just recently started playing warcraft3 again... and MAN... the mission where arthas has to wait for UTHER for 30 mins (on hard) is ridiculous!i had to scatter peasants around and build farms and what not bottom and top of screen! hahahaha... epic tho... EPIC.
That's probably my favourite level in all of WC3. Trying desparately to scrabble together a defence for the next wave after they were just destroyed by an abomination is just epic. I have lost that level with 2 seconds left before.

COD4, Multiplayer, Map is Crash and the mode is Sabotage.

In this particular match our team was getting seriously decimated, they were respawig in our own base, had a super sniper, grenades were flying every where, in simple it was The horrow of War as with each respawn it just seemed less and less likely that your team is going to win since we cold barely get out of the chokepoint and most of all no one had got past 9 kills in our team.

It was me, who remembered the mode and went on a suicide run to plant the bomb, by the time i planted the bomb i had aquired 3 "Oh shit" kills, 1 airstike, wasted all of my ammo trying to stay alive.

And with the winning explosion everyone on there team yelled into the headsets saying how I must ahve been hacking or simpl shouting "Bullshit" considering how near impossible we still managed to win.

Good times.

RTS I have at times been a major pain in the ass for other players after my base has been taken out since the force I have left is all I got. So I use hit and run tactics and make sure no one dies. No more zerg rushes.
like this, only in games like the total war games where infantry tend to be slow any infantry i have i make them stand and fight where they are

Only once..... The Place was Naboo on Star Wars BattleFront 2. My as the last Rebel against 30 storm troopers and a tank. I killed every last one. No joke. I stood my ground by command post so as to switch between regular and heavy rebel (to deal with the tank). It was epic. Never done it since. Such an adreniline rush. It was nuts.

I notice it mainly during RTS games.

My base is trashed, I've got maybe a couple tanks, and some infantry left - and I've got the entire enemy army bearing down on me.

I should just quit, surrender or restart...

...or I could see how many I can take with me!
