My dad never really did any of those things, other than following us along with the whole Santa thing for as long as we did, which wasn't long. We just decided to believe in santa and I think he didn't want to tell us there was no santa. So, technically he didn't lie.

Oh, and god, of course. "God loves you, but if you don't say your prayers he'll get angry." That came from other older people, not my mum or dad.

In a way, santa was always more real than god, even though people would always tell me god loved me and stuff. For the one or two christmases that existed, santa gave me actual, physical stuff. God couldn't beat that EVER.

Electricity goes from positive to negative...
For calculation purposes, that holds - voltage flows from highest to lowest potential.

That my parentsd would never get divorced. I don't really care now, but it pissed me off then because they both promised me they wouldn't. Surprisingly, thats about it. They did do Ethe whole Santa, Tooth Fairy, etc, thing, but I never really believed them because; A: even as a child, I was a cynic (something most of my elementary school teacher would complain about to my parents); and B: I, even then, suffered from insomnia (though it's much worse now then it was then), so I slept very little. If Santa and the Tooth Fairy only come when you're sleeping, then when the hell did they come for me?

Surprisingly, my parents refused to lie to me about how babies were made when I asked. My dad tried to simplify it for me, but I wasn't following, so my mom went to the library and got a book, which I then looked at/red, with her explaining. I was no older then 6 (actually, I think I was 6). I then proceeded to traumatize my friends with this info when I moved and went into first grade.

That all careers use advanced maths. That didn't really inspire me at all.

Parents should stop telling kids all this bullshit, it just scares them and makes them paranoid. Like my friend and his brother were watching Star Wars (He is called Jeremy and his brother is called Luke), so after they find out the protagonist is called Luke, Jeremy feels jealous so she says that Han Solo's name is actually Jeremy.
Jeremy didn't realize that the character was actually called Han Solo until a fear years ago when he was 15.

Not exactly a full blown lie but when I was little and I asked about sometimes going someplace to eat or maybe getting a toy they would say "we'll see". Eventually I managed to figure out that "we'll see" generally means no most of the time but I'm not bitter about it actually.

Two of the bigger LIES I have been told are that if you swallow chewing gum it will grow a web inside you(!) and that if you make funny faces when the wind changes it will stick that way(I lived in fear)

Humans are generally good.

You have to work hard in school to even be in the average group.

Hah! What a lie that was. Turns out you can be half retarded, not try, and still pass average classes here in America.

A ninth planet named Pluto... and it was my favorite too...

The whole Santa/Easter Bunny myth never rly aggravated me. It was fun playing along and letting my little sister and cousins think they were real.

I still believe in God

I think the biggest lie my parents over told me was that there was a cave under my house. I searched for years and never found it and it wasn't until about a year and a half ago that they finally told me the truth. Lets just say I was pissed.

I always thought Santa was real, and he was. Saint Nicholas of Myra. and, according to Disney, Tim Allen... Now though? No. He's not in the North Pole, making toys and enslaving elves.

Call me naive, but I believe in God.
