My longest sessions were always with a buncha friends, playing a game from start to finish. We did a 40-odd hours marathon on FFX from beginning to end, then killing off Penance (yes, we cheated. Or else, killing Penance would take closer to 200 hours continuous play). But that was with a friend though.
Another one was 10 hours Silent Hill run.
The longest was probably a 60 hours Lunar:Silver Star Story binge. Yes, we played the entire frikkin weekend.

My personal longest was definitely a LAN session with friends over CS, HL:Death Match and a buncha other mods. I think that one went on for about 14 hours. (We started bright and early in the morning, and went all the way through to late dinner)
OMG penance was sooo hard I didnt know there were cheats on FF games

Define 'played'

I beat Halo 2 on release day (on heroic), that took around 14 hours including breaks.

But I've left GT4 runing in B-spec mode for the 24 hour races several times (and taken control when I felt I needed a competiive advantage), obviously that equates to more than 24 huors worth of playing time.

Back in the days without save, it would be a regular thing to just leave the console on and go do something else...

but longest no stop gaming session.... 40 hours... wanted to finnish frontmission 3 in one sitting...

I left my laptop running on HL2 for 19 hours, then because it's shit, the laptop crashed, I didn't save.

*I was not just slow at HL2, I just never got around to unpausing it to finish the last mission.

To be fair, I have no clue what the fuck "PSU" stands for, so you have me there.

Acronyms aren't something I concern myself with.
Because I hate them.
That's an initialism, not an acronym. And it means 'Power Supply Unit'.

I once went on a two week holiday and left my PS2 on for the entire time. Didn't work the same afterwards...

Longest I ever sat and played a game, I've played oblivion for whole days before.

Hmmm
I've played seven hours straight with a friend to beat Halo on Legendary, about five hours straight playing rock band, and about six more hours straight playing the original KOTOR. This was all at separate times.

Left my PSOne on for about 3 days straight. Had bought the console, and a couple of games, but didn't have anything left over for a memory card, so I had to pause it and leave it on overnight.

I seem to remember doing that a few times too. Fucking Spyro would always freeze and die after like four hours

i was in florida visiting my brother, i stayed at an old friends place (it was valentines day, so i let my brother spend some alone time with his gf) and my friends brother brought over his ps3 and his 360, so i asked if i could play the ps3 (it was my first time playing it outside of demos at walmart or some where else like that) and i sat there and beat MGS4 start to finish, watching all cut scenes, i must have sat there and played it for a good 15 hours...

They appear to be interchangable.
Only because people don't know the difference. 'PSU' as an acronym would be 'Piss-You' or something similar; not really the best of 'words'.
