I'm sorry but I am not taking any medication that could be potentially harmful to me. Any sane person would take the time with their partner(married or not) and be truthful to each other to ensure any safety to prevent pregnancy and spread of STD.
i think it's a bigger issue for the ones without partners who can't keep their junk in their shorts. usually the ones with very committed relationships have brains and keep an eye on these things.

this is a generalization, i know. sometimes people just have a bad experience and get pinned (eg "my first night on the town in months and the ***** gave me syphilis!")

If it works and is reliable, it'd be great. The only form of birth control that a man can be personally responsible for, excluding (semi-)permanent sterilization, are condoms. Because legally a man has no say when it comes to a woman's pregnancy, all options for protecting my future are welcome - as is any added protection.

Bring it on, science people.

By reading this thread, I guess I am the only guy who really likes the idea of a male pill. Finally I can stop thinking whether the girl took the pill on time or not!

We're talking pills that'll prevent you from getting girls pregnant right?

I'd take em without second thought, unless they were really expensive.

The added safety of me taking pills (instead of just my girlfriend) owuld be nice, she could even drop hers if she wanted.
I have no intentions of getting a child anytime soon, so it owuld be nice with some extra safety without having to put on a condom (unless i was with a new girl, then it's rubber-time)

It would be much easier for men to use a pill because of our lack of hormone cycles not to mention way less side effects and just overall less risk. Of course I would take a pill if it meant less risk of pregnancy and if it was easier than having my girlfriend/wife take birth control pills. The only reason I could see a male pill failing is if we men are still as ignorant and just stupid as we have been for thousands of years. Bottom line there is absolutely no good reason why we don't have a male pill already and I am looking forward to the day when men can take responsibility for birth control.

Yeah Women can cut off their ovaries and shut close their fallopian tubes but you cant drink a pill with minor side effects? wow how unfair. Lucky I'm gay this dilemmas hardly ever affect us.

But then again, Ambien is supposed to have minimal side effects and i get seizures from them. there was nothing like that on the box. so i say wait for the full review of side effects.

Or your dick explodes like a trick cigar
thats not nice to think about........................

I hear that actually happened to a guy in russia. I took too many viagra and his dick exploded.

Its a good idea, the mail birth control. But... Well, I don't like pills.
...wait. You took so many Viagra that the penis of a man in Russia exploded? How much did you take?!

On a more serious note (since my first post was written 30 seconds before I left for work this morning), I would definitely advocate this sort of birth-control method and use it myself... once it's been tested. Would I test it myself? No thank you. My testes are not for testing.

Interesting how that works out, huh? (The double-standard)

Personally, I'm more a, "Let Mikey try it" guy, I'll let everyone else test it out for a year then decide.

If it turns out to have minor, "Makes your crouch itch" side-effects I'd be for taking it

I like the idea of having complete control and not depend on a women who is completely nuts on the issue of children.

I would certainly NOT want to test the new product, myself.
My thoughts exactly. Paya few guys a million each to test it for about 3 years, let me know how that goes.

I believe that some men already do take responsability for birth control (via the device commonly known as the condom or 'rubber'), there is in fact no good reason why we need a male pill because we already have an acceptable solution that exceeds the pill in terms of protection (a pill will not prevent STD's).

A pill is essentially trying to alter a person's hormone pattern in order to fool the body into making a pregency inpossible (or at least unlikely), not only would this have little effect on a man's anatomy (our bodies don't prepare for pregnency like a woman's body does, altering the level of hormones in a man's body, testosterone, would either result in heightened fertility, the opposite of the desired effect, or would have the side effect of eliminating a man's sex drive, which would defeat the point of taking contraception in the first place) but there is no guarentee that it will be 100% effective (everyone's bodies react differently).

The equivalent of a hystorectomy is not this, but rather vasectomy. Please do your homework.

I thought I was already doing that by keeping a condom in my wallet.
