If you told me that I could take a pill to guarantee that the girl I am with will not get pregnant, than you better believe I'll be the first in line. There are too many girls out there who are crazy enough to tell you shes on the pill when shes not. Hell, I hate having to trust a girl to actually be on her pills. Unless I see a nuva ring, I am gonna assume no. Yes, I can use a condom but why not use that and a pill? Hell, I plan to get a vasectomy as soon as I have two kids. I love people but I trust myself more than I do anyone else.

What I think is that you little girls who are afraid to take additional steps to ensure that you're not breeding like rabbits better be stepping up to take care of the girl and that child when it comes out. I am tired of having my taxes pay to take care of so many children from parents who arent even trying to be responsible. I understand that welfare is important because everyone needs a little help every now and then but when you have three kids, no job and no serious prospects of EVER getting a job then why should I keep paying for your irresponsibility? Its just a pill. Take it!

Hell no.

Absolutely not.

I could not be more emphatic about this.
The hypocrisy by males in this thread astounds me; I'd have no qualms about preventing an unwanted pregnancy.

Though, I'm gay so the point is so moot it's not funny.
I don't get this. Where's the hypocrisy exactly? He doesn't want to take pill. Now, if he was telling his girlfriend to take the female pill at the same time then yeah, but as far as we know no one in this thread is doing that. He doesn't want to take it. That's his decision and calling him a hypocite for it is bullshit.

Although it's funny. Guys are all excited about taking a pill to make them hard for longer or add a few inches(come on those ads are everywhere!) but once you tell them about actually helping them not get girls pregnant, they throw a fit. Let's be honest, girls tell me all the time how much trouble they have getting a guy to wear a rubber.

BTW, any guy who is against taking a male contraceptive pill, please do yourself a favor and actually look up the negative side effects that those pills have on women. Hell, go out and ask a few of them. They will be happy to tell you about all the horrible mood swings and bloating that they have to deal with. Don't be ignorant of the things that we ask women to do for us. Isn't it bad enough that we make them obsess about their looks, weight, personality so much that they give themselves all sort of psychological disorders that we cant at least help them out with one thing?

I like my balls just how they are, thank you. Plus, I can't get anyone pregnant in my current situation anyway.

I should've specified that I wasn't calling him hypocritical personally, just citing his post as an example of the attitude. It's not that the guys in this thread are forcing women to do anything; I just find it strange that all these guys are terrified to do what women have been doing for years. I just thought guys would be more open to the idea of not leaving it up to her.

It's a shame there's no link in the OP. Why do the majority of posters seem to think such a pill will cause some horrifying permanent damage?

i dont know why but some responses in this tread sounds a little sexist, so, it´s ok for women to take pills that mess up with their natural cicle, but its wrong for men to take a pill that will temporaly inhibit the production of sperm??
If a woman wants to take the pill that's her business. If she doesn't want to take the pill, that's her business. If a man want's to take the pill that's his business...do you see where I'm going here?
yes, i get it, but i got the feeling in here that some are in the position of "why should i" and don´t even think about the other side of the issue.

but well, i digress, if i went that way some people might think of this pill to be some kind of "raping enhancer" because the victim wouldn´t get pregnant

i am mostly rambling right now, pay no attention to my post if you find it offensive, i just expected some more "thoughtfull" responses to the issue.

It's not the same thing. It's a different chemical, it affects a different part of the human anatomy. The female pill came out in the 60's (IIRC) when people had a lot more faith in medicine & science in general. These days, not so much, if the womens pill came out now I'm fairly sure there would be a similar reaction. Some women still don't use the female pill because of how it might affect body chemistry. Once it's become normalised maybe we'll see a drop in that type of reaction but people are bound to be suspicious of stuff like this when it comes out. Especially if it messes with your balls.

Why is not wanting to take a male pill "leaving it up to her"? There are other methods available. People choose what method of contraception they want to use and if the partner is unhappy with that then they can and should walk away.

no way in hell would i ever try it, seriously the amount of things that lower sperm count these days means that something like that just isn't worth it. especially when women have their own pill with no real side effects.
