CHAD
Gender: Masculine

Usage: English

Pronounced: CHAD [key]

From the Old English name Ceadda which is of unknown meaning, possibly based on Welsh cad "battle". This was the name of a 7th-century English saint. Borne primarily by Catholics, it was a rare name until the 1960s, when it started to become more common amongst the general population. This is also the name of a country in Africa, though it originates from a different source.

AARON

Gender: Masculine

Usage: English, Biblical

Pronounced: AR-ən (English), ER-ən (English) [key]
From the Hebrew name אַהֲרֹן ('Aharon) which is most likely of unknown Egyptian origin. Other theories claim a Hebrew derivation, and suggest meanings such as "high mountain" or "exalted". In the Old Testament this name was borne by the older brother of Moses and the first high priest of the Israelites. He acted as a spokesman for his brother, and carried a miraculous rod. As an English name, Aaron has been in use since the Protestant Reformation.

Sjors/George,

"From the Greek name Γεωργιος (Georgios) which was derived from the Greek word γεωργος (georgos) meaning "farmer, earthworker", itself derived from the elements γη (ge) "earth" and εργον (ergon) "work". Saint George was a 3rd-century Roman soldier from Palestine who was martyred during the persecutions of emperor Diocletian. Later legends describe his defeat of a dragon, with which he was often depicted in medieval art.

Initially Saint George was primarily revered by Eastern Christians, but returning crusaders brought stories of him to Western Europe and he became the patron of England, Portugal and Catalonia. The name was rarely used in England until the German-born George I came to the British throne in the 18th century. Five subsequent British kings have borne the name.

Other famous bearers include two kings of Greece, the composer George Frideric Handel (1685-1759), the first president of the United States, George Washington (1732-1797), and the Pacific explorer George Vancouver (1757-1798). This was also the pen name of authors George Eliot (1819-1880) and George Orwell (1903-1950), real names Mary Anne Evans and Eric Arthur Blair respectively."

Woah, My name's fancy.

"Counselor of the elves," so I guess it means wise one or something.

As for my surname, it resembles the Spanish and Latin words for eagle.

Jameson means son of James
Which is kinda funny because my father's full first name is James.

so Son of James Miller (which is his full name). My first name also happens to be my mother's maiden name. So my first name is vanity and coincidence.

Eh, who cares what your name means. You are who you are. This in my opinion goes under the catagory of the astrologic figures that dictate you personality depending on your birth date.

My first name, Sarah, means "princess". A good choice of name, parents, a good choice. No idea what my surname means, but it was based on a place in England, with a slight alteration in the form of an extra letter.

My last name is a curiosity. It's Ling, but I am of Irish and English decent. Apparently the story behind it was it was initially spelled Lyng (something to do with the way Viking invaders would name towns).

I can't tell you how often people assume we're Asian.
