I'm going with the achievement for all Battle Trophies in Star Ocean 4.

I'm pretty sure I win this thread, but most people here haven't touched that game, so they don't know just how impossible that really is.

This whole game is pretty much damn hard to achievement mine.

Power of the Azure from BlazBlue Calamity Trigger.

Ooooh, you hard ************.

Then again, I suck at the game, so it might explain why it's so damn hard for me!

The Technical Fighter achievement in SFIV. That's the one for getting everybody's challenge in hard, right?
Its hard as hell simply because it takes perfect execution and timing on a very imprecise controller. Rage! (360's D-Pad is too small and in the wrong place)

In terms of time consumption, that one in Bomberman Act zero where you have to break a million soft blocks. IIRC it's been calculated you would need to play it for 430 or more hours. And the game sucks.

In terms of sheer difficultly, probably "A very troubled youngster" from Green day rock band. This is because of well... This:

There are a few achievements that are time consuming or just plain irritating.

I'd say the hardest achievement I had to personally get was to get 24 Medals for the Freeflow Challenge rooms on Batman: Arkham Asylum. Pretty much have to be perfect through the run or you restart the level. It was irritating, but fun at the same time.

11 Platinum Trophies here!

I just did Little Rocket Man (along with One Free Bullet, Neighbourhood Watch and the Cache COllector) just a few days ago. Not necessarily hard, just a pain when you are driving.

Difficulty because of length of time you'd have to spend to get it, possibly either of the Seriously (and 2.0) achievements in Gears of War & Gears 2. I played Gears 1 for what must have been 7-8 months, most nights after coming home from school and easilly racked up tens of thousands, if not more, kills from public lobbies. However, I just couldn't be bothered going into lobbies that my friends couldn't join when they were online, so I we just played casual. It would have been boring and frustrating having to kill so many people when you couldn't talk with anyone you knew, or have the fun that could be so easilly had in public lobbies. Still, Gears is one of my favourite games none the less.

For sheer difficulty, I can't decide. Mile High Club was a pain to get, along with one or two other veteran achievements on COD4, but then again I went round to a friends house after getting mine, and got it him in only three tries.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet, but it has to be:
World Champion (GRAW) - Climb to the top of the Universal leaderboard

I don't see how anything can beat that. The game isn't nearly as popular now though, so it might be easier.

Okay, I just gave up on even reading the list, that's a lot of tropheys for every character.

I might still cheap out and say Birthday Cake for Portal (if I've got that right - Gold medal on all challenge levels).

Failing that, the special ending of Chrono Trigger, the one where you beat Lavos in that fight that's rigged for you to lose. Afterwards you get to wander around and talk to the development team and Akira Toriyama.

I'm not sure what final fantasy game it was, but it had an achievement for getting all characters to max level, which someone calculated to take some ridiculous about of game play. I mean like 5000 hours or something.

"Master at Arms" in Counter-Strike: Source.

You need to get all the weapon achievements, and ... well here's the list of the kills needed for each weapon:

200 kills with the Desert Eagle
200 kills with the USP .45
200 kills with the Glock 18
100 kills with the Five-Seven
200 kills with the 228
100 kills with the Dual Elites

200 kills with the M3
200 kills with the XM1014

1000 kills with the TMP
1000 kills with the UMP45
1000 kills with the MP5
1000 kills with the FN P90
500 kills with the MAC-10

1000 kills with the AWP
1000 kills with the Scout
1000 kills with the M4
1000 kills with the AK-47
500 kills with the AUG
500 kills with the Kreig 550
500 kills with the Kreig 552
500 kills with the Galil
500 kills with the G3/AU-1
500 kills with the FAMAS

500 kills with the HE Grenade
500 kills with the M249
100 kills with the knife

I think the minimum number of people required is around 13500. And some of the achievements (knife, Scout and grenade) are pretty hard to get. Plus you have spend all the money on the guns.

From Team Fortress 2

Banner of Brothers (requires 5 Steam friends on your team to stand in the same spot as yours)
Tartin Spartan (999,999,999 blast damage)
With Friends Like These (requires 7 Steam friends in one game)
Chief of Staff (1,000,000 heal points)
Pyromancer (999,999,999 fire damage)

Gluteus Maximus for Fat Princess. 12 waves of increasingly tougher enemies, 5 different classes, 60 battles total, 0 checkpoints. It's a freakin headache. P.s. I know that this is a "trophy" but if XBLA had Fat Princess this would still be a headache.

That looks more Time consuming then Hard. I can understand at time one might be stupid but that seems like a more Time Consuming achievement then a "Hard" achievement.

OT: MAG had some that were annoying to get. You had to destroy like 5 bunkers and 20 transport cars in games with 125 other people on your team trying to do the same thing.
Let me fill you in on something...A large number of those trophies ARE MISSABLE if you don't do them very early, like on the first playthough. And then you'll have to restart the game from scratch. Like, new save data, scratch.

Inspired by the other achievement threads.
Surely this is just a rehash of them.

OT: Firstly write a proper OP so we know what we should answer with. Do we post the hardest we have achieved or the hardest we know of?

Secondly, if I can get Little Rocket man on my first play through of the game, ever, then it is not a hard achievement.

Lastly, go look at the Number 1 achievement for Quake 4.
Number One (20)

Achieved the number one rank on the All Gametypes leaderboard.
I believe around 60 people in the entire world have that achievement.

Can anyone else beat that? If not, I call /thread.
I think you can boost the "Weekly" leaderboard for that one, iirc.
