Project Natal, the newly dubbed Kinect. I just really don't care. Microsoft should just stick with making first person shooters and more Alan Wake and leave the innovation to Nintendo.

The most overrated animal in the world is clearly the Panda.
It is an overwieght slow moving poorly adapted animal that barely reproduces and would not in the slightest be missed by the ecosystem if it died out, and yet we go to extreme lengths to keep it as a species alive because we find it 'cute' and letting millions of other species that actually have purpose die in the meantime.
A decent post... in a thread about this topic?! You have astounded me once again Vrex.
Yeah well I just figured there was no point in lecturing people about making threads like this, besides this is about anything on the planet not just entertainment products so at least it has potential to provide some form of conversation that shouldn't erupt into a flame war.
Still thanks, I certainly do like astounding people.

EDIT:
By the way, loving the new avatar though personally I think it would have gone better with the old username 'Machines'.
But hey, stil pretty cool.

The attitude in the UK towards terrorism
Okay, I'll bite. What do you mean here?

Overrated things, hmm. I can't in good conscience jump on the iPad bandwagon because I only know 1 person who has one, and no one else seems bothered about it. I'll go with The Beatles. I'm not really a fan. Some of their stuff is alright but they are not near Godlike as some people I've met believe.
Things such as the new laws put in place that infringe on the liberties we have and yet these laws were nowhere to be found when we were being bombed by the IRA.

and also that its caused quite a lot of alienation to Muslims to boot, hell I can remember being on the tube in London a while back and some stupid moron shouting "what the fuck is she doing on the tube dressed like that? she'll probably blow us up" all because she was wearing a Burqa, but the womans responce was quite funny, she asked the person if they needed to be reminded of when to breathe in and out due to the fact they have such a small mind, which got a lot of laughs.

I can probably reword it but i couldn't think of another way of putting it.
Sorry about the long time between replies. The reason that these laws weren't around with the IRA is I think, because it was a different kind of terrorism. I might be simply revealing my lack of knowledge on the subject, but didn't they focus on property damage rather than blowing people up?

As for the woman on the subway, good for her. There are tons of assholes unfortunately, and I think they'd find another reason to offend Muslims even without believing that they are all terrorists.

I think Modern Warfare 2 is really overrated. It isn't all that great as far as I'm concerned.
I do get peeved when people say this, because barely anyone is denying it is one of the most hated games of all time. Look at any Modern Warfare 2 thread on this site and then tell me it is overrated. I like it, but each game session usually ends with me holding a hammer over it, urging myself to do it.

Avatar I mean I never bought the hype and I made sure to watch it on the worst tv in the house so I wouldn't not be taken by it's charm and it was so average.
You watched it on the worst TV in the house just so you could ***** about it? That's just pretentious.
That Movie's selling feature was its absolutely stunning visuals...and you intentionally watched it on the worst television you could...so you couldn't see the best part of the movie?

I agree the movie was overrated and the movie itself was a little bland, but why would you do that?
You watched it on a bad TV so you wouldn't get taken in by its charm and gorgeous visual effects? Aren't those two main reasons to watch a movie? Are you a masochist?
If you don't get sucked in by the movie's charm and empathize a little with the characters it's just boring...

Friendship! Over!

Well, technically we were never friends, and technically I mean nothing by this. In reality I was just responding to you as a means by which to lead into my point, which is ...

Dogs are awesome but I find cats are extremely over-rated and the only redeeming quality they have (being cute) isn't very common, as most of them are actually ugly and/or evil looking.
No, good sir, now our 'friendship' is over!

Cats are so wonderful and cute and fluffy! Especially kittens. They're so tiny and adorable, and their tiny mews (for they cannot rightfully be called meows) are so soft and cute...

I've have the same old cat for about 12 years now, and he's as loyal as any dog. When I come home, every single time, he's in the same spot ready to meow at me when I walk through the door. He follows me around and is very often around me in whatever room I am whether I pay attention to him or not. Hell, he even figures that my bed is rightfully his.

Better than any dog, like my dad's. Annoying little alarm clock, and far too clingy. The bastard can learn a few things, but so far it's only aided him in 'justifying' whining even more! The bastard will whine at any chance he gets and it's all far too annoying. I hate that damned thing...

Little Big Planet.
You can make anything you want, as long as you can imagine it!
And you have 12 hours to kill of extremely boring, tedious work.

Seriously, it's the game developers jobs to make games, don't make me do the work!

I find a lot of things very overrated to be quite honest with you. I think I am just sceptical of anything "popular" but here we go: The Avatar film, Johnny Depp (even though he was OK in "Pirates of the Carribean), Tim Burton, The Beatles and the England football team

Yes, Tim Burton is very overrated. He was good for a time, back when he was directing movies like Sleepy Hollow. These days, though, he gets by on his style alone.

I sort of agree on Johnny Cash.
Also: 90% of the Valve games. People act like they are the second coming, when, in my opinion, they are incredibly average.
This. A thousand times this. Half Life 2 was eh, L4D 1/2 was eh, Portal was eh, Counter Strike was eh, and TF2 was eh. I mean theres more than that, but none of them are so "OMG I AM GUNNA JIZZ ALL OVER MY SELF IF THIS GAME CONTINUES GOOD!" They are all just average and a decent time sink.

Although I dont agree on Johnny Cash. I like em...theres no way Id get my voice that low to just talk slowly
