Castus Alcedonia, it's a Latin phrase which roughly means "Pure Tranquility", it would be a sort of leisure ship, accommodating over 50 Holodecks at once, you can live out your purest fantasies. I would obviously patent the technology through a series of under-handed tactics and deals, so only I would be allowed to legally stock them. When you're not boning three clones of Megan Fox, you can enjoy the majestic sweeping views of the nebula through the observation deck.

To ensure my beautiful ship isn't ransacked by one of you troglodytes, I'd pay protection fees to the most influential pirate gang, making it untouchable. It would be sky blue and feature a personal holodeck for yours truly.

Obviously, holodecks are addictive, so I would make sure to charge OUTRAGEOUS amounts of money for just an hours use, making sure no-one could spend too long in there.

Plus, I would send off some holodecks to all of the major political and criminal players as gifts, to further up my rate of protection.

Also, if you can't afford the holodecks, I'd just grab a few of the slutty guys and girls from my home-town and offer them large sums of money to be complimentary hookers to my guests.

If you mishandle the girls you will be fed to the TEETHMOTRON.

I put a lot of thought into this.

In "death note" Shinigami are said to have an addiction to apple's. Because my ship is a small, stealth, mercenary vessel, were going to make a lot of people very angry. If someone who hate's us saw us, with our AI generated cloak down, enter their port, they would think of us as brave, before having the sip's surrounding it tare us into piece's. So we would have to make with raiding other ship's in a "addictive" fashion.

And beside's who wouldn't be more annoyed when, after day's of trying to get to a S.O.S. signal, you find out that it was a dummy signal and inside the beacon is some simple wiring, a frozen apple and the message:

"Hunting ship's is like Finding apple's.
After a while, you start looking in the.......same place's.

THE SHINIGAMI"

"Shadow of Intent" Always thought it was a cool name(cookie to the person who knows where its from) and the slipspace would come in handy too.
Halo 3
...cookie?

OT: Rather uncreative, but still an awesome name: "Schwarze Sonne" (German for black sun), after this kick-ass-song:
It would be a ship designed to go under every detection of the enemy to hit them where it hurts the most.

Mamayev Kurgan

A futuristic warship concocted for a scifi novel I started to write a while back, in which humanity is governed by a sort of UN on steroids. Earth itself retains some international characteristics in terms of distinguishing corporations by what is at that time called the region of the Earth. For instance, the Lockheed Martin F-78 Striker is the standard human space/atmospheric dominance fighter, made in the region of... actually I can't call it the United States. Anyway, you get the idea.

The Mamayev Kurgan is the latest member of the Russian designed Kursk-class of battle carriers, which are basically larger space "battleships" that are also designed to ferry troops. Basically, they are powerful naval combat platforms, but they can also contribute some troops to the combat on a planet, while acting as orbital bombardment platforms. Each of the Kursk-class ships is named after a battle from the Eastern Front of WWII, in honor of those who died, though Mamayev Kurgan is the name of the hill just outside of Stalingrad where intense fighting took place for control of the highest point in the city, from which German guns would be able to hit every point in Stalingrad.

It is powered by two large tokomak-style fusion generators. The ship is propelled by four large primary thrusters and nine smaller secondary thrusters, all of which are high powered ion propulsion engines. It also boasts a hyperdrive capable of making the jump from Earth to Proxima Centauri, approximately 4 light years, in about 2 hours. Without the use of its hyperdrive, the Mamayev Kurgan is restricted to a top travel speed of around 0.2C (20% the speed of light) for reasons of fuel conservation. Fuel for the hyperdrive, in this case being various antimatter materials and other things that can be used to bend the fabric of space time according to our needs, can last, in a sustained jump, almost 2 months.

The ship is protected by dual cold plasma shield "generators" which, in truth, make plasma from pre existing matter, then eject it into space and hold it in place using high powered electromagnets. If the shields fail, the ship can rely on almost a full meter of high strength metal alloys and composite polymers to act as a resilient shield against kinetic and heat energies. The ship itself is based around a honeycomb structure, so it is physically sturdy.

The Mamayev Kurgan is manned by 1000 crew members, and is home to 220 marines, as well as 170 fighter and bomber pilots, and 320 maintenance crew. The ship is capable of ferrying another 3,500 troops to the "frontline" on any planet within range.

Weapons systems include long range heavy plasma cannons, short range plasma guns for taking out fighters and bombers, long range anti-ship torpedoes, anti-aircraft missile systems, missile-interception defense systems, and 160 aircraft, plus up to 15 short range boarding vessels. The ship's heaviest weapons are massive gauss cannons that use magnets to sling 420mm shells at high speeds. The Mamayev Kurgan has a maximum effective attack range of around 800km.

Aside from the eyes of crewmen from each of the three bridges, the warship can detect other objects using a set of powerful wide spectrum devices that can pick up radiation ranging from radio to gamma rays in order to detect approaching enemy ships. The ship's powerful computers can pick up and identify individual warships accurately and effectively from about 1200km.
...Did you just use a wall of text to describe a SHIP?

Good lord, man...it's sound epic.
I have to say.... Now I want to see what it looks like in a drawing or illustration, how much time did you put in coming up with it?

"Destinys Light"
We would be a rouge ship from a old organisation who nobody knows anything about and we would travel through different dimmensions(Using the device in the Stargate Atlantis "Deadelus Varations" but we would be able to control it.) and we would hunt pirates and corrupt people like crime lords, bandits and politicians. And the crew would start with loads of different people but as I went through different dimensions I would find my self and eventualy the whole crew would be me! And we would have a number system so we could tell the difference.

Oh and by dimensions I mean parellel universes.

A Arourian Abomination (cookie for reference!) Named "under the burning sky" (another cookie for someone who can figure this one out) it would be for defending the honor of house Heraan (and a third cookie).

I'd call it Looming Benevolence, and it'd be a giant hospital ship. I'd also have some bad-ass space monkeys guarding it, and the whole crew would be attractive women.
so that makes it a benevolent hospital starship filled with badass and attractive female monkeys....

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....
The Wizard of Oz guards just really turn me on :/

The SS Moose, Its purpose would be to find moose-like creatures throughout the cosmos and bring them on board to look for the genetic link between moose and sapient life. Of course it would be shaped like a pair of moose antlers.

Probably something like "Golden Morning" (and, if I ever got a second ship, I'd name that one the "Silver Moon").

Basically, I'd got out and explore. You know, the standard "boldly going" thing. See things no other human has seen before, be a pathfinder to the stars, discover new stuff, blow it up if it's a threat to mankind - that sort of thing.

Though I might name it "Voyager" instead if I wanted to be simple and give a name based on it's purpose.

Infinity Pheonix - Roughly 30 member crew, main purpose being a gun/eyes for hire. The Hull is salvaged a last gen Human Battlecruiser, with constant updates made from cutting edge human and alien tech as it is salvaged. Cargo space has been largely repurposed for additional Firepower, Manuverability, and Sensors support. The Pheonix refers to it's salvaged nature, the infinity to its neverending upgrades.

Boltbag III.

An outdated piece of junk held together by spit and prayers. But it flies dammit. I'd outmanouver your big fancy shiny new ships any day of the week and a few more days besides.

Why III? Well lets just say the prayers didn't work very well the last two times...

Either of these:

The Vedaggah

Chronos

Ironside

Brandished Steel

The Defiant Mollusc

The Righteous Vindication

It'd be a fairly well-armed fast cruiser, small/medium sized, ex-military, with a standing crew of around 20-25, but occasionally takes on other traders who need to get to the target destination. Would be a interstellar freight and industrial/commercial delivery rig. When not in service, the crew explore areas of the galaxy or find a local inhabited planet to relax on.
