The new badges: getting a little over the top?

It feels like a desperate attempt for the managers of the site to get people to see more of the content, and thus, the ads.

It's getting a little annoying with these badges. At first I'm like "holy shit that's a lot of badges!" and I was so happy. But then as more and more can it got annoying. It's killing the whole aspect of earning badges. If the escapist would make these badges with bigger amounts then it would be as annoying. If you don't get what I'm saying here's what I mean. Instead of getting a badge for watching 2 episodes of Unskippable there should only be one that if you watch 10. There you still have the pleasure of still getting badges.....

It does make me feel obligated to rewatch every Unskippable episode so I can prove my love for the series, which is kind of irritating. Apparently I haven't watching over half of these, if my badges are to be believed. Stupid lying badges.

I want a badge for watching all of the episodes of that insanely crappy puppet series they had on here for like a month.....also i got a 10k topic view badge and the highest ive ever gotten is 2k...

What really irks me is that badges are showing up for shows that I watched a couple episodes of and hated. I don't want other people to know I watched that crap!

Seriously though, it would make a lot more sense if there were badges for watching every episode of a given series (or perhaps of a given "season" of a series)- but more than that is excessive.

i don't much care for achievements that the Xbox hands out for playing one of their games. I don't care for it and it doesn't bother me. The same goes for this place.

There should be a badge for the "first relevant post" for ZP.
That might cut down on the dolts who keep posting there within seconds of a ZP upload.

OT: Yeah a bit. I think its just that they are all coming at once is the problem, I wouldnt mind if i had gotten them when i watched the videos, but now with a load of badges i didnt have yesterday i'm kinda meh about them cos i have to open all the messages
