Why? Apart from being one funny, if rather deadpan, guy, I think he's got it going for him. He's charming, dresses really interesting, is rather reserved and alot more focused on technology in comparison to his Top Gear co-hosts. I would like to see a little more mad scientist in my Doctor. The only thing that stops me? He doesn't run on camera.

That be wicked awesome!!
I can see it now. Tardis Doors Fling open... and a Ferrari Enzo comes bursting out... Its the new Meshing of Classic British Doctor Who, and American Knight Rider... Lulz.

I can totally understand why people don't like the new doctor (Smith) but imo give him a chance. He's actually quite good. Yes, yes, I miss Tennat as well but... (Too lazy to go quoting the person I'm responding to) I just read the whole thread and wanted to comment on that. No idea who would be a good new doctor tbh. I miss Tennant too much.

Patrick Steward!

I already hear him shouting engage to the TARDIS.
Yes. That'd be kinda cool o.o

Albeit I always thought (not that the studio copuld afford him) Sean Connery would be killer as well. But he's good in everything so I guess that's a stupid thing to say <.<

I thought you meant he really resigned, I was about to cry :|
I thought he had actually left once this coming series is done though?
I didn't hear anything like that, can't find anything online either.
It's hopefully just rumours, I think they should keep him for a while longer.
Could have been hearsay, can't remember where I heard it now.

Hugh Laurie I think would make a great doctor. Sticking with the UK for actors. Although I think he might get the OMG WHY IS HOUSE THE DOCTOR issue. Still he would be up to the job. He would have to stop playing house though.

AHHH House as the doctor a whole new level of being type cast.
I agree lets get House to play the doctor. I bet he is sick of being famous for a role with an American accent.

Actually I think Simon Pegg would be quite good at it.
He already played a villain though, and I do believe he even died. A villain playing the doctor? Pffft!
Really? Ok what about Nick Frost then?

Love Nick Frost but I don't see a um.. Not meaning to be harsh but a fat doctor? :S He is absolutely awesome actor and fantastical funny guy, I just don't see it.

I think James Nesbitt would be quite an interesting Doctor, particularly after having seen him in Jekyll.

Isaiah Mustafa.

"Hello Ladies. Look at your Doctor. Now back to me. Now back to your Doctor. Now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me. But if you stopped being the Doctor and swapped with me, he could smell like he's me. Look down. Back up. Where are you? You're in the Tardis with the Time Lord your Doctor could smell like. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's a screwdriver that does things you love! Look again. The screwdriver is now diamonds! Anything is possible when you're a Time Lord and not a human."

"I'm in a Tardis."

Michael Shanks - aka Daniel Jackson
Joeseph D. Kucan - aka Kane
Hugh Laurie - aka House
Patrick Stewart - aka Captain Picard

As long as I can play the role of The Master, I don't mind. Alot of the previous suggestions have been good though - Alan Davis or Richard E Grant should defo have the role at some point though.

But I wanna be the Master. I have the beard and everything. And sorry John Simm, I liked you in life on Mars but your Master wasn't menacing enough. You were insane, not cold and calculating. AND YOU DIDN'T HAVE A BEARD. THE MASTER ALWAYS HAS A BEARD!

But anyways, back on topic...
