You're contradicting your own logic there, Anthony Head played a villain already too. He was the Krillitane guy.
Well, while I would by no means call my thought processes logical, you're entirely correct. I must have forgotten about it because it just didn't seem like him. All slicked-back hair and creepy grin...

When did he play a villain. Do you mean The Master cuz that wasn't Simon Pegg.
The Master was John Simm, or an older man whose name I forget. Simon Pegg was the sub-villain in an episode about TV or something. He was painted blue, for reasons of his own.

Touche, but as we know his name is the Doctor
so Doctor Who is surely a question as he has never been referred to as Doctor who
therefore the title of the show is a question, not HIS title
how can it possibly not be?
so Doctor Whom would be implemented
Just a nitpicky point; his name is not "The Doctor". Doctor is his title, as in 'someone who has a doctorate'. His actual name remains a mystery.

Nope, he asks people to refer to him as "The Doctor", it's stated he chose that for himself instead of his actual name (Which only River knows). The ranks of Gallifrey are Castellans rather than Doctors/Masters.

I think Bill Nighy would be fantastic
As in Doctor Black in Vincent and the Doctor, the museum curator.

As long as they don't make the doctor an arse this time doesn't really matter. I took extreme exception to the 'you're Scottish fry something up' line in Matt Smiths first episode. While i admit SOME of us Scots are on the chubby side (myslef included XD)..... still pissed me off.
...episode...*hrrk*...written...*urgh*...by...*argh*...Steven Moffat...*explodes*

Seriously, take a damn pill.

Disclaimer: I am also scottish.

Tom Felton. Don't look at me that way.

I need a Doctor who can combine intelligence and wit without sounding like a complete prick.

I thought you meant he really resigned, I was about to cry :|

I don't know who I'd cast. Stephen Fry probably, that'd be hilarious.

incidentally i've always though it should be 'Doctor Whom' but that's just me being a grammar nazi
No, because A, it's the name of the show, and B, it's kind of asking a question namely who is he.

OT: I'm not sure what it takes to be a good doctor. People need to throw themselves into the role and give the doctor their own twist, anyone can do it to a certain degree and I don't really know enough actors that I think would do it best. If I had to pick someone it would be Fry or Pegg.

Just a note, Simon Pegg was in the first series of New'who.

Also, here's a thought.

Brian Blessed. Unrealistic, yes. Amusing to consider, also yes.

The older guy was Derek Jacoby, one of the finest Shakespearean actors of his generation.
