Just don't listen to them. Around 63.7% of the people on Xbox Live, PSN, or PC are whiny idiots whose voices haven't deepened yet and yell "OMG NOOB!" everytime you kill them. Just come up with a smartass remark to beat them in with, or remind them that they'll probably never get a girlfriend. That usually shuts em' up for me, or gets me kicked. Either way, benefits are going my way and not theirs.
Also, calling someone a noob usually incites that you are a geeky wimp. Very few people have gotten down the trick of when and when not to say noob.

One of my favorite things to do is to dominate the whiners using the weapon THEY'RE using.

Shuts them up when I point this out to them.
No, that still doesn't work because they'll argue that you used the weapon in a cheap way or something like that. There's really no way to penetrate the thick skulls of these douchebags, just ignore them. Or better yet, mute them.

Guys this is why Call of duty MW2 has a QUICK MUTE FEATURE.

Lets be honest, everyone on the internet is a D-Bag. Or at least 95% of them, when given a mic, tend to talk way to much.

Oh and Tac knifes and Danger close are noob weapons. I don't say it, but everyone knows that.

It used to have actual meaning, a noob weapon or tactic would be something that unbalances the game and gives select people a massive advantage.

These days it's just a 12 year old's way of saying you're better than him without damaging his e-peen, take it as a compliment!

Using that term is embarrassingly infantile.
Especially spelling it with double zero's.
What kind of man talks like that?
Kids.

Solution: Those who call you a noob for any gameplay that appears normal and acceptable by anyone else are in fact themselves noobs, as they have not had the experience and playtime of the game to understand that most of the time you will feel as if you have been killed cheaply because that's what fucking happens and they can't deal with their own failure.

I can safely say that I've heard almost every gun in Modern Warfare 2 referred to as a "cheap" "overpowered" or "nooby" weapon, with the possible exception of the F2000. This is because it has a terrible fan base. Not everyone who likes it is bad (take me, for instance), but there is a massive number of irritating or stupid people who play it simply by virtue of the fact that it's the most popular anything in the history of ever. So no, not everyone who plays FPS games is noob. The people who accuse others of being noobs are noobs.

Sounds like solid research to me(Can't check anymore anyways :p). I always thought the DMR was the more powerful. Another thing, is any one else loving the loss of accuracy even while zoomed in? I hate how putting a gun up to your face in MW2 makes the weapon magically accurate and with perfect aim as you continue firing, with the slight recoil that can be eased with skilled control of the crosshairs.
My research came straight from Bungie's website, so I'm fairly confident that it's accurate.

You mean the reticle bloom/recoil system? I love it. I especially love how crouching causes the weapon to stabilize faster, like how it would realistically. Of course, all the Skill 50 MLG tryhards are complaining to no end because they think it's become "random" and takes no "real" skill and blah blah. They really can't talk about skill. There's more to skill than strafing back and forth with a BR, training the gun in the general direction of someone's head, and spamming the trigger to no end.

But the Plasma Launcher is absolute crap on vehicles, which balances it out. I can take 4 plasms to the hood of my warthog and live to tell the tale. Same with the Scorpion.
Yet a few clips of AR fire can blow the Scorpion up. I'm pretty sure they just need to tweak the vehicles entirely in Reach. :p
On b.net, they said that they're going back to Halo 3s way of doing vehicle health (linked to the drivers health). I'm glad they did it because when I got in the wraith I was always being killed by about ten ARs.

OT: In MW2, all the guns are equally lethal in their own right. You cannot (I think) point at any one gun and say it is utterly useless in any scenario. Because of this, there are only two things I consider to be 'noob': Tac-knifing (especially if i've put half of a shotgun clip in them, and they just sponged it.) and the idiots who think they can quickscope, but really can't. Let me give you an example, in a search and destroy game, on estate, the last round, my team mate was behind 'the big house' in the 'greenhouse'. He spots someone at the window. He begins spraying bullets from his intervention at the house, in probably the biggest failure I have ever seen in the game. Both of them are just missing each other with bullet after bullet. To pull off the kill would have been easy, but NOOO, he has to keep spraying so he looks 'pro'.

Going slightly off topic, now they've nerfed the spas, akimbo rangers are now the shotgun of choice, as it kills faster than the AA-12 and more reliably than the M10, Spas or Models. Still, I don't play MW2 anymore. Not after I realized it was just spawning enemies behind me, and me in their fields of fire, or in an airstrike. And my team always just runs in and gives them streaks. That I then spawn into. Again. And again. And Again.

the thing is, in COD6, either a gun is noobish or it sucks.
and no matter what, people will call you a noob for using good guns and winning. So who cares?
Cod6? dont you mean Modern Warfare 2?

As long as the tank takes hits like a tank, I don't care how they make it work. More power to them.

Ha, ha. Apparently my opinions aren't so novel after all. Nearly everything you've said sounds like my experiences entirely with the game.

I have the same views of this as i do of driving.

When I find out someone is a new driver, I tell them the most important thing they can remember when driving is this:

While you are driving you will be thinking you are the best driver in the world and everyone else is the worst. They will all be thinking the same thing.

These are my thoughts. I've been playing MW2 long enough to be in this situation. I normally have a shotgun as a secondary and I just decided to go with the model. To me, there is no difference between it and the spas 12. I get 1 shot kills pretty much all the time with both yet it's only the models people complain about. Then of course there's dual G18s which I don't have a problem with. I don't like them but I'm not going to complain if people do. The one that always confuses me is the tac-knife and commando pro. I don't honestly see this as noob-like as I have to earn that knife with 75 pistol kills. And then to be truly effective with the knife, I have to flank round and avoid being shot in the face.

I think the original Halo had awesome weapon balance. There wasn't a single Noob weapon there. I mean, the Needler was a little underpowered, but the AR was boosted for MP so it was actually a good weapon, and you always started with a strong gun. Part of the advantage of a game with so few but well-balanced weapons.
this might be campaign specific, but the pistol was overpowered to the extreme. also, the plasma launcher reminded me of the Halo 2 Rocket Launcher, and most of the specials were pretty poorly balanced in the Beta. The focus Laser was the end-all gun. When I used it i literaly never died unless I was out of Ammo nyoro~.
The Plasma Launcher wasn't in Halo: CE Xbox multiplayer. The PC version added crap the game didn't need. Dunno what the other stuff is you're on about. Doesn't apply to original Halo.

As for the Pistol, I thought that deserved its own section. While it is true the Pistol is the single most versatile gun in the original Halo, it is not the BEST. There's a difference. The Sniper Rifle was a much better sniping gun, the Rocket Launcher was better for taking on groups or killing tough enemies instantly. The Plasma Pistol and Plasma Rifle are both a lot better for taking down Elite shields and Elites by proxy (the Pistol SUCKS by itself against Elites). The Assault Rifle is better for Infection forms and in very close quarters. The Shotgun is better in every way than the Pistol except for range. Even the Needler takes out Elites easily and causes explosions.

The main advantage of the Pistol is its adaptability, which is why lots of players love it. But it's actually balanced pretty well in Campaign, and it's even weaker in the multiplayer where weapons like the Assault Rifle are bumped up. I'd rather have an AR than a Pistol in a Halo 1 multiplayer match, assuming I have enough cover to close the distance.

If someone calls me a noob I just ask them if they now what it means. If I can't get an answer in a few minutes I write down the long history of newbie being a beginner and how I have played the game for atleast a year and so on... It's often kind of quiet in their end of the line after that.

Multiplayer. A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Edit: That said, some weapons/etc are OP, but not all of them are.
So much win for this reference!!!

OT: People usually cast their mind around for a good insult to use when they want to piss and moan about something, and their puny minds usually land on "noob." It's ironic that you can go to any online gaming community and see games sessions with tags like "no noobs allowed." I would bet you a dollar that if you join that game, no matter what you do, you'll get called a noob by somebody.

If something is imbalanced to the point that it can legitimately be called a noob weapon, it usually gets the nerf gun. If that doesn't happen, it's probably best to switch to a game where the dev team actually cares about their product.
