Man these trailers are beautiful. That made me jizz my pants it was so awesome.
And that republic commando leader dude, he had balls, i mean taking on a lightsaber wielding sith lord with a combat knife XD
That jedi girl was very cool too. I love the fact that the lightsaber conflict in this has moved on from just the lightsabers to more fluid movements with the face kickings and stuff, makes it look even more sexy

I have to admit I'm quite pleased with Bioware's pre-rendered cinematics (as recently as Mass Effect 2 anyway), they and Blizzard pretty much own that department at the moment. Though I have to admit Blizzard's WoW cinematics are sort of stagnating because there's no story in them whatsoever. Starcraft 2 is going to change that, though. And then we shall see.

Oh yes, we shall see.

As much as I hate to get a pay-to-play game(And I really, really hate to. Pay-to-play is bullshit), I think I'm going to break for this one.

This is a bloody awesome trailer. It Blasted my Mind. It Raised the Roof. They Took it To Eleven.

Having said that, I still really get annoyed when trailers try and make a game seem like it will be something that it won't be at all. At least straight action games have the benefit of saying "it will actually kinda sorta look something related to this!", whereas TOR cannot say this at all about the trailer, they do not intersect in any fashion other than they are both Star Wars.

Oh well, it's still cool.

The trailers look AWESOME! There really is no trailer that compares. And I have complete faith in Bioware. If anyone can make a good MMO out of Star Wars, it's them. After all, they've already made 5 amazing games, why stop there?

Best damn trailer of E# 2010.
Really makes me want to play a Trooper. The thing with the grenade was hillarious, up until he shows the grenade I thought he was going to headbutt the sith. As far as the comments on how they both came away from the explosion intact, well, gotta love tank hit points.
I loved the lightsaber staff wielding Jedi-elf girl with Hadouken.

I always thought Blizzard had the best PC game trailers, but then they made the Cataclysm trailer, and Bioware made this:

If only Bioware was put in charge of Star Wars Episodes 1 through 3, maybe they wouldn't have sucked.

To all those inevitable "THE GAME WILL LOOK NOTHING LIKE THIS!" screamers, I just have to say DUH. That doesn't make this trailer any less epic.

Hot on the heels of the Sith Warrior, Jedi Knight, and Bounty Hunter, this trailer brings the Jedi Consular, the Trooper, and the Sith Inquisitor to cinematic glory. Next up, hopefully the Smuggler and Sith Agent!

good god i need to go change my pants 3 times for how much i nerdgasmed at that trailer

(believe me i understand trailers do NOT represent the game)

but holy shit..bioware how do you do this to me?!?!

Yep... one-week rendered Blizzard trailers are nothing compared to that package of awesome.

Although I don't like how Jedis are growing exponentially stronger with every Star Wars game. Remember the Jedi Knight series? You spent half of the second one with only guns. A short time ago we had The Force Unleashed where the little guy blows a hall apart like it's nothing.
However, the Old Republic trailer made me wet my pants nevertheless.
i always thought the movies were flawed, they could always get stronger with the force, as they showed through the movies, so i dont see how someone cant, that was unrestricted by the jedi order, become that powerful? i mean it makes logical sense with how the force is described and whatnot so i always thought that a game like the force unleashed would be released someday.

yet another problem is that the jedi knight uses a massive blast of telekinetic force powers to kill the sith lord. WTF! jedi are strictly prohibited from using the force to directly kill.
False. [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Code]
Only a Sith deals in absolutes. Know the Code before speaking, so that you do not spread falsehood.

Bioware just keep blowing me away with the quality of their games and trailers. Soon it's going to be like Yahtzee said in his ME2 review that Bioware stop getting extra credit for doing amazing shit because it's just a given that they'll produce the goods.

If only we could have a Star Wars movie that was half as good. Final Fantasy has had it's Advent Children.

jedi have been known to kill in times of war and other types of crisis like the lightside ending for KOTOR and in the beggining of the KOTOR comics also your point about jedi considering killing a path to the darkside
No, they don't. They consider killing a waste of life, one that should not be taken lightly. Jedi can and will kill if necessary. But only absolutely necessary. The Jedi consider killing in anger a path to the Dark Side. Which is why Obi-Wan's character is so interesting. He actually LEAVES the Jedi Order about 40 years BBY, returns, kills Maul in anger after Qui-Gonn Jinn is murdered, yet goes on to become a Jedi Master, and one of the most respected in history.

Man. That was impressive.

I have yet to play any Bioware game that has disappointed, and I'm really hoping that The Old Republic isn't the first.

Also, for the people saying the actual game won't be as epic, yeah it won't, but it'll still be pretty great. Look at this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7WHHQokRGs

My biggest concern is that it will feel like a single player game, with lots of people around. That said, even if it crashes and burns, it looks like it's bringing lots of new ideas to the table, so even if the ideas suck, maybe they'll inspire someone else.

Any one familiar with the Expanded universe lore will know that the force powers featured in the movies pale in comparison to the powers some could achieve. Exar Kun detonated STARS with his mind, and as a Force ghost 5000 years later was still powerful enough to almost kill Luke. Darth Plaguse could resurrect the dead, Jacen Solo could travel time, and Luke Skywalker, by the end was basically a demigod. though I agree that SWTFU went too far in force powers. So all in all I think The Old Republic actually just about nailed it.
Yes, sure, I knew this. Then again these were book characters or if in games at least main villains (KotOR), but I do see a severe rise in the strength of playable Jedi characters.
Of course, this means more fun, but it also makes the films look a bit weak. Remember EP V where Yoda had to concentrate to lift the X-Wing? Then compare that to Galen Marek... Sure, some of the EU's Jedis and Siths are much better, but most people have no clue who Exar Kun is or think Revan is the capital of Armenia. All they know are the films, and there Luke looks like a big wussy compared to games like TFU.

Kotor1 and Kotor2 are modern day FF7's, 5 to 10 years from now people will STILL be playing through them and enjoying them.

Except Bioware actually did what it's fans wanted and FOLLOWED UP ON KOTOR.

SCREW YOU SQUARE ENIX!
