Yep... one-week rendered Blizzard trailers are nothing compared to that package of awesome.

Although I don't like how Jedis are growing exponentially stronger with every Star Wars game. Remember the Jedi Knight series? You spent half of the second one with only guns. A short time ago we had The Force Unleashed where the little guy blows a hall apart like it's nothing.
However, the Old Republic trailer made me wet my pants nevertheless.
i always thought the movies were flawed, they could always get stronger with the force, as they showed through the movies, so i dont see how someone cant, that was unrestricted by the jedi order, become that powerful? i mean it makes logical sense with how the force is described and whatnot so i always thought that a game like the force unleashed would be released someday.
The problem is that if a person could get as powerful as the protagonist in Force Unleashed or Yoda in Episode 2, it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't.

I get that those two characters are special, but are we to believe that in episodes 4-6 nobody was anywhere near as powerful as they were just decades ago? For gods sake, in Episode 5, Luke can barely pull his damn light-saber out of some ice on Hoth.

It's just an inconsistency, and it creates balancing issues, could you imagine if every jedi/sith were as powerful as the Force Unleashed guy? A 50 on 50 battle would literally destroy the fucking universe.

This basically is Kotor 3, realize that and you'll feel better.

...then buy it.

Also, for the people saying the actual game won't be as epic, yeah it won't, but it'll still be pretty great. Look at this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7WHHQokRGs

My biggest concern is that it will feel like a single player game, with lots of people around. That said, even if it crashes and burns, it looks like it's bringing lots of new ideas to the table, so even if the ideas suck, maybe they'll inspire someone else.
I don't think it will crash and burn, the WoW formula is pretty well established at this point, if they start with that, and then build in a story and fully voice act the NPC's, then with the massive budget and development time this game is given (plus the talented Bioware Devs.) I really don't see how it could possibly be worse than WoW.

(And for those of you saying, "a little better than WoW is good enough for you!?" the answer is yes, yes it is, WoW has well over 10 million subscribers, saying a little better than WoW is a low standard is like saying being a little better than Michael Jordan at basketball is a low standard)

I love this trailer and all, but I can't but feel that they spend more time on trailers that will only be shown at E3.

The game looks fantastic as well though.

The cinematic was great; but I still think Blizzard reign supreme; their Wrath of the Litch King Cinematic trailer was brilliant. This trailer has some nice action sequences, but lacks any emotional pull or any real reason for the viewer to care what's occurring.

With this trailer there's a lot more of an emotional pull - especially for those that understand what's going on.

Ok I just had a shiver run down my spine. That was the most epic traileri have seen in a long time.
On a side note did anyone else notice how weak that hand grenade was?

yeah i get what your saying, that would be pretty epic though =]

well from my slight understanding of the star wars universe, is that it is beyond fucking massive and there are billions of fucking planets/asteroids/space stations so they have room to destroy stuff without worrying too much!

The nitpicker in me just realized something, when the trooper sets off that grenade while he's still holding it, it blows up like immediately after he presses the button.

Is it MADE to kill the person who uses it? Or do they expect the enemy to pick it up and press the button? lol

I don't know, it's a close call, but I mentioned in the OP that while I thought Blizzard used to reign supreme, they just came out with the Cataclysm trailer for their next major game, whereas Bioware came out with this.

HAH! That girl just kicked everyone elses butt. Superior gender much?!

But seriously, why did the Sith guys suck so bad?
They were taken by surprise.

The Sith aren't weak, as the "Deceived" trailer proved.

OT: Yeah, easily the best trailers ever. Lucas should just give Star Wars to Bioware, since Bioware seems to know how to make it awesome. And not suck.

Nope not happening, I don't have the lifestyle to support playing that type of game. I guess I'll just have to accept that the game I want will not come out for at least the next 3 years and move on.....DAMMIT.

Maybe it's a light grenade?

(ten cookies to whoever knows what that is from)

It could be a remote explosive with a detonator.

Just a guess.

It's a great trailer, i love BioWare to bits! What i'm worried about is too many people are going to be Jedi/Sith for the OMG FORCE POWAHZ AND SABERZ thing. I hope there's some balance.

What lifestyle? Just spend the time you'd normally spend playing a Kotor 3 playing this.

If you don't have any time to play a Kotor 3 in your lifestyle, than what are you complaining about?

So that was the detonator......where was the explosive? (if it was in the guy's vest, it wouldn't have damaged both of their faces more or less equally, and it would have had to explode THROUGH his armor to reach their faces, effectively blowing him apart)

Not that it really matters, I'm just sort of OCD in stuff like this, everything that doesn't make sense I lock onto instantly
