on here when the first person to past after the opening message quotes the opening message, i mean, why???

I always quote the person I am responding to because you never know when someone will jump in and you will get a random response to a question that no-one knows who asked. Also, it adds that personal touch that lets them know I paid attention... Also, it send a message to their box so they will respond to me faster...

if there have already been responses then fair enough, it gets things back on topic but what i meant is when there are no other posts (so you have the opening post, then the first reply who has quoted the opening post) that i find it pointless. we just read the opening post, we don't need to read it again in the second post.

I take it you have never had a post come between yours and the one you were responding to? I have. That is why I always quote the person I am answering. And I don't usually read the quote unless I am confused on where the response came from. If it bothers you that much, just don't read the quote. It is not like we have a minimum or Maximum word limit to post on this site...

i think you're misinterpreting what i meant, i don't see the point in quoting the opening message when there are no other posts. if there are other posts then fair enough, particularly if things have gone of topic a bit. it doesn't bother me i just don't see the point quoting the opening message when posting the very first response. i'll see if i can find an example...this thread: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.117682 THAT it was i don't see the point in.

You do know rap and Rn'b are completely different types of music right? And no, Rn'b never was good. Hip-hop (or rap as you call it) on the other hand, has always been good, just less so in the mainstream during the last decade. Then again, there's very little good in the mainstream these days.
