I can't even remember anymore, I've been stuck with it (and some variations) as a nickname for so long...
I think it came about when a friend decided to randomly start drawing robots in addition to his normal cartoony sketches. One of them came out a lot shorter than the others, and so got named after me (because I'm short, though I'm sure you'd worked that out already). After a while, 'robot Joe' became 'Joebot', and then the name got applied to me as well. The numbers creep in because I'm not the first person ever to use the name.
Although I'm sure I've been called it for other reasons too... J03bot has many origin stories!

I'm prone to eccentric behaviour and making up stories about violent encounters with historical figures

I had a fight with Ghandi once
"Oh! Who won?"
GHANDI, you fool! That's why He's the hero of India and I'm stuck in a 17-year old English kid's body!

DAMN YOU GHANDI!

DAMN YOOOOOOOOOOOU!

Favourite animal is the Wolf.
Wolves Howl.

Accounts for most of it.

Still not sure where 214 came into it. I think I was trying to create an email and Howlingwolf was taken. So I stuck some numbers on the end and now I use them everywhere.

MasTerHacK. I don't know how I started to use it, but I'm changing it to my graffiti handle WOCKone. Slow, but sure. I'm changing it because I can't PWN without whiny brats kicking me for "HACKING".

Thought the name up while playing WoW actually. Hit the random name generator and it came up with Fandora, thinking for a moment I decided to get creative. I changed the F to a J since my name is James, the N to an L and the A to an E and bam; Jaldore, Blood Elf Warlock

I always remembered your username because I love LOTR too, and because it's such a funny contrast with your avatar, which is about as un-hobbity as it gets!

It's a good one, don't change it.

Mine is a bit obvious, I think so I'm not going to bother explaining to anyone who has ever played a game where it comes from! And I just like it as a username.
Pardon my ignorance but what is it from? I always just though your name was Jen and then something to do with Novas!
Please tell me you are joking :'-(
I don't know how to copy/paste pics on here so here is a link

Indeed. And they compliment each other quite well.
Only if the right music is picked though... haha

I started my username career on Xbox Live.

First was m1mp, but on the account of that being completely fucking stupid, I changed it.

Second was HLG Stickshift, which I kept for a while before getting bored of constantly getting called an "HLG fag".

Third was oDeepthought42o because the original DeeptThought42 was taken. This one was bad for multiple reasons, people called me DeepThroat a lot, the 42o looked like 420, and it was overall highly unoriginal and crappy.

Fourth was Old Trailmix, which I plan on keeping forever. I use this on all new accounts that I make. I love it.

In 8th grade I hit what I refer to as my black phase, where a white person seems to think that they're black and gets into the entire culture, now by this I meant I wore baggy pants and listened to rap since I was still in middle school and stupid. But me and my friend (who is like a hoho, black on the outside but white on the inside) were going to be rappers, and my name was going to be DoubleD, taken shamelessly from Ed, Edd and Eddy since my name is Ed (or whatever). But my last name, Bobincheck, stood out and my friend suggested CheckD, merging my 2 names together

The 3 comes from when I went to sign up for AIM as CheckD, and it was used (amazingly), so the 3 looks like an E backwards and sounds like D, and viola! CheckD3 was born

No joke. Nothing like gettin' down to business only to have Tracy Chapman come along and sing about spousal abuse. Such a downer. That's what the romancin' mix on my iPod is for. No surprises there!

Heard this nonsense word in a snippet of a 'Phones4U' advert on the tellybox. Needless to say, it is not often used prior to myself signing up for a website account.

Lol... yeah I like Tracy but I certainly would never have her on, um, in the background so to speak... gimmme a bit of Massive Attack or Goldfrapp instead.

Apparently Absolute Virtue is a monster in Final Fantasy XI. I wouldn't know, I never played it.

It would take to long to explain the train of logic that went through for this username, but it started with a quote from Kingdom Of Heaven

"A King may move a man, a father may claim a son. That man can also move himself. And only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played, or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone. Even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power. When you stand before God, you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that."

From there it was "Convenient Virtue", then "Absolution" then I just said screw it and combined them into "AbsoluteVirtue." 18 is my lucky number (along with 8 and 17) so I added that to the end out of force of habit.

Adam We is a reference from family guy, other tags come in the form of "Mr.Grieves" (reference to the pixies ^^) and Themoustache, because it's win. I use these all over so keep an eye out, I play a lot of games.

Mine originated because I was a fan of FFX-2, and thought it was simple but neat. It, or some variation, is my handle just about everywhere I go.
Sounds pretty badass, really.

We have a guy here who's first name is Payne, so we call him The Payne Train XD I'm calling you that now as well.
Go nuts xD It's not the first weird nickname I've had.

It's also fun for confusing the crap out of people on my gender, you wouldn't believe how many people think I'm a guy between my handle and interests.

Ooh, good choices. Toss in a little bit of the old school Tangerine Dream and some Black Dog... maybe just a dash of Bjork - you have to be careful with her, she can sometimes go to strange places with her lyrics - and I think we have at least half my list covered.

Mine will vary, but I'm sticking with this one when I can. My original tag was 'Steerpike' based on the villain from the Gormenghast books, but it was a popular tag apparently and I kept getting abuse from people who said I had 'stolen' their name, so I gave that one up.

So I picked up on Chancecall. It was the racing name of my greyhound (now in heaven....or hell....or wherever)so it is a tribute I suppose!
