I like the levelling system in TES too, it requires more thought than the F3 one.Kiutu said:[]So you can not stagger after having a troll punch you? Maybe what makes Fallout 3 easier is the traditional leveling system, which is meh because I love the TES skills system. Maybe you just dont train enough the right way and is your own character creating problem that makes it hard. I know my characters fair well, since I build them to live. Well, my main ones. SOme experimental ones do not fair as well. Backtracking, staggering makes a hand-to-hand character possible, though more so in Morrowind than Oblivion.
The problem with the staggerinng system comes in when you face multiple enemies. It's ok against one, but when you have 2 or more enemies they can keep staggering you repeatedly, one hitting you while you're still staggered by the other.
Even when you have an agility of 100 you still get stagger spammed by groups of high level baddies, even while blocking it can happen.
This results in 50% of the combat at higher levels waiting for endless stagger attacks to end so you can actually get a chance to fight. It's boring and frustrating.
Obviously a troll punching you in reality would stagger you but in a game, designed to have fun, it just feels tedious and annoying having the control wrestled away from you over and over, waiting for the screen to stop jerking around so you can fight back.
