Think about it. You're in a crowd, someone you don't know walks in and converses with the pastor. He pulls a gun and you hear a BANG.... and confetti comes out.
What would think is going on, in those first few seconds?

My first thought ran to how hardcore a believer this guy was. I mean he tried to block bullets with the word of God. At first it worked a bit, but that's not the part I find interesting. I would have thought he would have just dove out of the way.

Well, maybe he just tried to defend himself for what was closest to him/already in his hands. Either way, it doesn't matter. He's good and dead.
