We're together now. Forever. That's allllll that matters. Blame my monthly interwebz cap!
Lucy was immensely pleased, for a moment, that her fainting-friend had recovered rather quickly. At this point, she would offer a smile, but the girl's iron-forehead collided with her healing eye under the eyepatch.
Needless to say, Lucy was stunned. Not in any emotional way - ...but more in an
'oh-god-it-hurts-wwwwhhhhyyy' sort of way.
It took her a few moments to recover, she could feel something being wrapped around her head, items dropped at her feet and the back-and-forth of a conversation nearby. Catching snippets of the nearby conversation, choosing to speak once the stars disappeared.
"D'you girls know each other or something?"
"...she's something of a Legend where I come from....Johnny Truant's stories... Lucy Black would be over 80 years old where I'm from."
"What is your head made of!? Blamco, that hurt...
who are you?
How do you know me?
Why am I a legend?
What - what the heck is going on?" Lucy pleaded in a ludicrous fashion, waving her arms around and turned to look up at the stranger nearby.
"First time we've met, first time here myself. Oh, she's turning out to be
such a peach..." She tried to sound scathing, but the situation was too ludicrous for her to get convincingly angry. All she could do was offer a defeated expression and a smile. "And who might you be...
Enclave?"
That would certainly explain what this place was: an Enclave test. Train a few soldiers to act, spruce up part of the vault to look like a bar, monitor the Asset's behavior...
A few sizable novels were laying at her feet, picking up one of the scattered issues, Lucy glanced over the title incredulously. Most of her questions were answered in that moment:
The Adventures of the Red Menace and the One Eyed Gauss Girl: Jacked to the Max.
The eye-patched woman on the cover was most definitely her...
with a few enhancements. According to the illustration, Lucy's breast size had almost doubled, her armor was torn and somewhat tighter fitting...apparently this is what Johnny thought of Lucy.
Pleasingly, both females looked exceedingly fierce and capable, their respective weapon's were larger than life and Beast Mode on the cover made her rifle look like a monstrous energy cannon. All of it was extremely detailed.
It wasn't everyday that you read about
'yourself', so Lucy was somewhat absorbed, flipping through a few pages.
Glancing up at her most recent acquaintances, she hastily apologized, "Sorry sorry...been awhile since I had the chance to relax and read - relaxing might be stretching it though" Lucy shot a teasing look at the curly-haired female.
"Oh, now this is more accurate...!"
Lucy flipped over the book to show a two-page illustration to both of them: The picture showed Lucy pressing her rifle in Beast Mode to Sylph's head, with Sylph pressing her wrist-blade firmly to her throat. In their off-hands, Sylph and Lucy's arms were slumped and damaged, still gripping secondary weapons that were both angled at the floor. An anti-materiel rifle for Sylph and a plasma pistol for Lucy. Both females were murderously glaring at one another...
