NAME: Sherman Fuget
AGE: Older than he looks or younger than he appears. It's hard to say.
RACE: Erysian Human
GENDER: Male
CLASS: Licensed Exorcist and hunter of all that is wicked.
APPEARANCE: He is a Caucasian man, something of a hard case it seems by the look of him. Very stern fellow in many ways. You note him kindly by his reflective shades and wide-brim hat. [http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m315/MagnusReaper/preacher7.jpg] He seems to be an elderly man, or perhaps a man for whom the normal aging process has passed over. It's not easy to be sure, given that he's bald and aged-looking in face, but fairly strong and keen of movement in body. Whatever paradox of being it is about him, know that he is no stronger than any mortal man, but definitely alot quicker and keen to act. Lightning moves go hand in hand with this man, and a very good sense of his surroundings. He wears clothing that borders on the classy, yet made for travel. Black pants and overcoat, red vest and undershirt, good walking shoes, and occasionally gloves. For a vocal reference, think of actual Preacher from Twisted Metal Black made often southern-accented and rough when angered.
PERSONALITY: If you think this man is someone who doesn't like to be trifled with, get a load of THIS! Sherman has the old man gab BAD, but much of what he speaks involves his calling, the battle of good against the forces of evil. He's a preacher man and a demon-slayer. He finds certain things - actions, beliefs, lifeforms - to be unacceptable and wicked in nature. For instance, he will not abide by the use of guns, for they are the sickeningly easy-killers from untrained hands and therefore of no use to the world when you can learn a practice and become an expert in a more pure way of combat. He tends to generally feel that he is right all the time and is very stubborn...yet he often has a point. He is unilaterally against all things evil, but there is a subsection in his views of things that are 'Just Plain Wrong' that even evil people wouldn't go for, or shouldn't. Other than that, he tends to be quite amicable around people when nothing special is going on.
EQUIPMENT: He has a number of things.
V-90 Custom High-Velocity Crossbow - The design of this crossbow was meant for assassins, originally, but it has been repurposed to this preacher man. This metallic-and-composite device is shotgun-length and unfoldable into its ready position. In an emergency, it has both a spring-loaded bayonet and the the bowstring may be used as a garrot wire. The bolts launched are meant to explode or deliver poison, but Sherman alters the ammo to impart sacred energy that will send bolts of cold white energy in a radius around the attacked area.
Silverlode Exploding Daggers - Made to assassins, once more, but changed for a different use. They are thrown or stabbed by the user and the act of being stuck into something causes the explosion to trigger. Sherman has altered them to explode with sacred energy at a greater radius than the crossbow bolts and they are also made of silver.
Great Book of the White Void - Some people throw the book at you figuratively. Sherman can do it literally and expect it to have an effect. The book is a metal-bound religious text of whatever following it is that the man uhh...follows. We dunno what the White Void is and he does not explain. Nor does he ever mention if he has any followers or fellow preachers. Not important. What IS important is that this damn book is METAL and about the size of those tomes used in The Mummy. Imagine getting hit with that, and also imagine that it conducts the same cold white energy as his other equipment.
Survival Gear - Basic stuff. The man's always prepared, so he has everything he needs to live the Bohemian lifestyle if he wants to. Well, maybe not a tent, but you get the idea.
POWERS: What? All that sacred stuff and no powers? Hah.
Locate The Evil - What 'the evil' is...is open to interpretation, but this is a power which perceives that according to a sliding scale of auras and trails. If you're an evil bastard, it'll be easy for him to spot you so, and find oyu if you try to escape. Once he's got this power locked, your presence is notable from afar and your trail is a darkly-glowing mist-trail visible only from ethereal realms...and himself.
Create Small Object - Part of the reason he often has survival gear on him is because, at the cost of energy, he manifests some of the bare necessities. Also ammo, like daggers and crossbow bolts, if need-be...though those are harder and they don't come initially blessed with his energy. However, if the man needs a bit of food or a canteen of water or a box of matches or some rope or whatever...he's got it.
Bless With Energy - On objects or water or whatever suits his fancy, Sherman can put his hand on something unresisting and impart (Nay, flood.) energy into it...thus energizing and purifying that something. It can therefore lash out with said energy when striking another...especially if the target is a wrong-doer of some kind. It works on lifeforms and such as well, but not so well if they're struggling since this is suppose to be helpful, even heal damage. Using it on himself is fairly redundant, but the healing effect remains.
Seal of the White Void - This is a malleable barrier of the White Void sacred energy he's using. It's best-used when creating walls or protective domes or something like that, but Sherman's gotten a bit creative over the years, and so he's gone and used it to create beams, giant hands, straitjackets, and more. His imagination and concentration is all that's required, and while it can certainly prove an effective barrier to even normal non-wicked folk, it will only burn in proportion to impurity and evil, meaning that it's deadly to demons but only somewhat burning to an asshole human.
Exorcism - While this is best-performed on a target that has already been subdued somewhat, he can perform it on the fly if need-be. Sherman is a Licensed Exorcist. By all rights, he is empowered to purify anything he sees fit, though it's recommended that he confine such acts to actual darklings and devilish beings whenever possible. Even still, at a moment's notice, he can invoke the Great Book to call upon a great gerser of sacred energy to a target area in order to force great amounts of power through whatever's in there. This is rather a shock to normal people, but generally they're fine after a moment if there was nothing to damage. But in other cases... Well, the target whatever-it-is is VERY pure now. Possessions gone, bad auras vaporized, demons destroyed, and so on.
BASIC BIO: Story time!
On the distant planet of Erys, there was long ago a great level of achievement. This was a planet that was awakened and technological like Shadowrun-Earth, but it actually went WELL. Magic and technology were worked for the betterment of Eryskind - all meta-species, mythologicals, and humans alike - and they became very advanced in a relatively short amount of time. So, that was when - You guessed it! - everything went to hell. It was the opening day trial of the Universal Interface, a device which - if all went well - would render the prototype space explorarion vessel they'd built obsolete before use...because they could allow themselves to interact with the very universe, draw from its energies, explore with their minds, or transport their bodies. Unfortunately, upon switching it on, it drew in something from another part of space. Something dark and fierce that was both alive and machine and traveling at hyper-velocites when manifested on the planet.
Well...you can guess what happened there: A cataclysm. Fortunately, the benefit of having a society like that is that some of the people have the high-capability of saving it. Many lives were lost as the enter world was engulfed in darkness, then dust and debris, then terrible storms...but many were also saved through quick action and alot of power. Sadly, alot of the society and advances were destroyed, remnants and preserved knowledge alone remained. They had to start over. Years later, post-apocalptic settings gave way to a living, breathing world that still had technological marvels in it, but also a great deal of RE-invention, retro-fitting, and reverse engineering. That is Erys, the world reborn. It's a screwed up and crazy world where the elves are scientists, the dwarves are superhuman, and things are rarely what they seem.
Among all of the weirdness that is this world, we have a man... Most people don't know where he came from. Perhaps he was created, perhaps he was just quiet until now, or perhaps he was always there and we just didn't notice. But one day...people started to notice a drifter in their lives, a man who talks a great deal and does a great deal. Dark things exist in this world, especially those who have been touched by even a spare component of the beast that killed the world: The Wrathwyrm. He is called Sherman Fuget and he is a demon-hunter. However, in the long years of his work, he applied for a license to also become a preacher man and was accepted. He is now the word of god. Which one? We're not sure. But he's there and he's kicking ass and taking names...down in his book...so that he can kick their asses later.
