I wouldn't want to ask. I wouldn't want to get the most recent one questioning why she is sticking it out with me.

Especially after I did something stupid tonight no less.

I really need to start finding women that are closer to my age.

In my last serious relationship my then-boyfriend said he liked me because I was sweet and smart and lovely. Looking back on it, it's a little hard to tell whether or not it was just him talking out of his ass. I think he liked me because I'd listen to him ramble--he'd go into "storyteller" mode, about plots for games or comics he wanted to do and I'd sit there completely enthralled every minute of it.

...Sigh.

I refuse to post in this thread seriously because everything I type makes me sound up myself.

So just imagine what I would say if I were up myself and you get the idea.

Alternatively, think about bunnies!

Just watch as they bound around on the grass.
No bunnies no! Don't venture off the median strip!

Damn you bus driver... damn you.
*sobs uncontrollably*

OT: He's not my bf precisely, but the man on whom I have a reciprocated crush (wow that's long to type but it's the best explanation I have) told me flat-out one night that he likes me because I'm smart, I make him smile, and we have a LOT in common. ...that and it's 'rare, delightful, and wildly attractive to hear a girl actually say' that I like tabletop gaming and would love to play with him :)

We sync up really well. We're always on the same page, so eventually we're pretty sure that we won't need English, we'll just have to do various grunts and gestures to communicate.
We refer to it as "hiveminding", or something like that.

It's hard to explain. We just fit. I feel like this is where the whole "Other half" thing comes from.

Well, when I had a girlfriend, she said it was because I was funny and fun to talk to.

This didn't really last long , and I got very cynical and bitter, and eventually she just couldn't really deal with me so she left, which was probably a smart choice on her behalf.

Damn, I've just made your thread all depressing haven't I?

I pretty much had the same problem. At first I cared to be funny and talkative, but after a while it got boring and she got obsessive. Then when those two things meat... yeah she left me. She was crying when she told me though so at least she cared.

I caught her former boyfriend in the process of hitting her, caught his arm and smashed his head into his car hood... so I guess it's because I made a good first impression.

My most recent ex gave the general cliche laundry list of reasons (nice, funny, etc.). In hindsight, she was a shallow ***** in dream girl's clothing. Glad to be rid of her.

Kind of makes me wonder what the next one will say, though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, my last girlfriend broke up with me because she couldn't stand to see me waste my life as a NEET. We're still friends and everything, but it's not the same. At all.

So ronery ;_;

Well I don't currently have a girlfriend, but all the girls who have liked me in the past liked me because I am funny.

I turned down everyone of them because I want someone who likes me for me, and not for my jokes.
Isn't your sense of humor part of who you are as a person, though? It's one thing to know a good joke, but it's another thing to understand why that joke is funny or to be able to tell it properly. I mean, really, you might as well have said, "I want someone who likes me for me and not for my intelligence," or "...not for my warm and friendly attitude," or "...not for my sense of romance." I dunno, it just seems kind of silly to me. Even if they didn't really understand you at the time, that's kind of the point of dating in the first place: to get to know someone you're interested in.
