Well, you can't be too careful. I made a similar joke to another user without the disclaimer, and I think I freaked her out a little. I felt bad.

EDIT: While I'm here, is that a FREAKING ALLIGATOR in your avatar?
some people can't take a joke can they? why yes that is a freaking alligator :)

I don't have a girlfriend. I think the worst mistake I've ever made is asking myself: Why would she like me?

I still ask myself that question even though I try to ignore the answer...

Well, I've never really wanted a relationship, but a girl who asked me out said that I am a very open and "no-bullshit" kind of person.

Apparently I remind her of herself when she was a bit younger. I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing though...

Major kudos to you, good sir!

Well, I'm single right now, but that's not what this thread is about, now, is it?

When we were going out, they liked me because I was a gentleman-hold doors, take care of coats, that sort of thing-and because I was honest, and easy-going. I just made sure i treated them right (as much as I could on a broke college budget.

Well, when I had a girlfriend, she said it was because I was funny and fun to talk to.

This didn't really last long , and I got very cynical and bitter, and eventually she just couldn't really deal with me so she left, which was probably a smart choice on her behalf.

Damn, I've just made your thread all depressing haven't I?

Furburt: Bringing Everyone Down since 1992
Oh I've always appreciated your honesty good sir, even if depressing. Besides I was depressed long before this thread!

OT: My imaginary girlfriend left me. She said it was because I was delusional. I always felt like she was faking it in the sack anyway.
Reminds me of how my father's imaginary friend killed himself when my dad was eight.
Still dunno if it was intentional.

I tend to look to see what exactly chicks see in OTHER dudes.
I still haven't worked out what they don't see in me.
I'm not THAT unnatractive...

My boyfriend and I have been together for two years.
After a while, you begin to appreciate even the smaller things about your partner.

My boyfriend likes when I come crawling up to him saying "Here I come!" and kiss his face numerous times.
I mean, he loves me for so many reasons and I love him for so many reason. I could name a few, but it wouldn't do him justice and he feels the same way.

:)

Cause I'm easy to get along with, funny, we have similar interests and opinions and we can sit for hours and hours and talk about the most random stuff!

Also I'm damn good looking, great in bed and just generally awesome. She hasn't told me those things, I just assume.

Well I don't currently have a girlfriend, but all the girls who have liked me in the past liked me because I am funny.

I turned down everyone of them because I want someone who likes me for me, and not for my jokes.
Isn't your sense of humor part of who you are as a person, though? It's one thing to know a good joke, but it's another thing to understand why that joke is funny or to be able to tell it properly. I mean, really, you might as well have said, "I want someone who likes me for me and not for my intelligence," or "...not for my warm and friendly attitude," or "...not for my sense of romance." I dunno, it just seems kind of silly to me. Even if they didn't really understand you at the time, that's kind of the point of dating in the first place: to get to know someone you're interested in.
Yes, but all the girls lose their interest in me as soon as I stop telling jokes.

I can't just be myself and talk about stuff, I have to tell jokes for hours on end.

Its annoying.

i am always there for her and i try to be the nicest guy around her. I say "try" because i am naturally pessimistic and narcissistic.
